odd food cravings

anyone have these? women seem to go for chocolate...as in, now and then, almost every lady I know craves the stuff. me? my big thing is fresh, hot pasta slathered in olive oil (mine is apparently fake, lol) and grated parmesean. now and then i add spices, basic stuff...black pepper, garlic powder, maybe a touch of red pepper...but...yeah. i don't know what its about. i try to make it less "im a 19 year old stoner" since...you know...I'm 34 and no longer a stoner...by using grown up pasta (hi protein+multi-grain, tonight its tortellini), but...yeah. yeah. -my secret shame- (don't judge me!)

anyone else? :)

I just had to come back here and reply to this when I saw it because I have strange eating habits sometimes. Lately I've been wanting potato chips at night, but sometimes I'll have midnight snacks of cheese, bread, or just eating a spoonful of peanut butter right out of the jar. :lol

I have them all the time...
But it changes as to what I will crave...
It can be as simple as home made applesauce to a really good chocolate mousse...
Sometimes bread...good crusty bread dripping with butter.

And then it could be chicken pepperoni or sopapillas.

I'm able to satisfy most of them. Texas isn't too far away...
Sourwood honey and Tupelo honey are coming up soon...just had the scraping from the Sourwood honey jar on my toast this AM...

Time to make a run to the Smokies for some more.

But I got one developing that's going to take a bit of time to get done.
I want some pure grape juice grape jelly... can't buy it...have to make it. Everyone cuts theirs with pear or apple juice to make the jelly. And the flavor difference is huge. Subtle to some...price difference is huge though. Meh...got champagne taste and a discount beer budget.

i didn't know that about grape jelly. you can't even get what you're looking for from a farmer's market or some kind of health food store? that's rough.

See if you could get Monini oil...extra virgin.
It's reasonably priced and the real thing.

Also, if the label says Parmesan, it's not real cheese!!!!!
The real cheese is called Parmigiano because it's made in Parma Italy.

Make the sauce like this:
In frying pan (non stick) put a small amount of oil.
Crush some cloves of garlic and add. (can't ever put too much!)
Soften slightly on low flame.
Add red crushed pepper.....to taste.

When pasta is ready, put it in the pan.
Mix well
Add the parmigiano.

(or separately after it's in the dish)
