I thought this was really telling of how low our political system is sinking. Thank God for those who stood up for God, even if they were hauled out of there.


One Nation Under Many gods?

If you had been in the U.S. Senate last week you might have thought we were one nation under 300 million gods. Maharishi Harry Reid invited a Hindu chaplain from Nevada to open the Senate in prayer. Rajan Zed came up to the podium. To which of the 300 million gods he was about to pray to we will never know.
Zed led off but was interrupted several times by the righteous in the balcony trying to proclaim that America serves just one God, the Judeo-Christian God. They were hauled out of the chamber while the senators apparently paid little attention. The protestors were only trying to remind all present that America remains "one nation under God" and not one nation interested in Hinduism's many gods.

It may break your heart but you need to hear it as these senators are some of America's highest leaders who seemingly felt the Hindu atmosphere was fine.

Diversity and multiculturalism have run amok in America and many are concerned for the welfare of our great nation. We will now see a splendid ecumenical march to the House and Senate by other faiths invoking their gods, so if you think last week was just an isolated incident, just wait and see.

When Israel turned to other gods in the Old Testament she paid a severe price as God is a jealous God. We are playing with fire. No good thing can come from the diversity--only the further weakening of America.

The story doesn't end here. According to World Net Daily, a Christian chaplain, Gordon Klingeschmitt, approached Sen. Reid's staff and Sen. Clinton's staff. He wanted to pray "in Jesus Name." He was turned away and was told that the Seventh-Day Adventist chaplain who opens the sessions prays in a "non-sectarian" way. This was preferred to "praying in Jesus' Name."

As I was writing this article a Hindu called me. He said he wanted to convert me to Hinduism as Jesus was a Hindu. I reminded him Jesus was a Jew and, thank you, I am not in a mood to convert. A national Hindu association in America has pegged my ministry as well as Gospel for Asia and others as "hate ministries" with "hate Web sites." I am NOT registering hate here. I am actually burdened that millions of people who are sincere, though sincerely wrong, are heading to a Christ-less eternity. I know Gospel for Asia feels the same.

On the other hand, Hinduism does not have a good track record when it comes to persecution and to feature a Hindu chaplain in the U.S. Senate stretches credulity and likely God's patience.

Who will line up now asking for equal time? Will a Wiccan, a Scientologist, or a Christian Scientist be turned away as the Christian was or will they be welcomed in the spirit of ecumenical unity, the product of strong delusion? Remember, Hinduism is a tiny minority in America, yet they were so honored and they were chosen to be a likely trend-setter.

"There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death" (Prov. 14:12).

Hindus tend to think there are many paths to enlightenment. So to many of them, all religions are a subset of their religion. So a Christian focusing on the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is equivalent to someone focusing on Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer. Even an atheist can be considered a Hindu if they put focus into life such as working as best as they can.

As for our government, we are not to have a Christian government. So the rules are usually "all or nothing." You have to represent every faith or no faiths. What this means is that if people voted in Muslims, atheists, Hindus, Jews, etc that Christianity would be just as free today as it was in the past. However, if you try to shackle religion to politics, then you may loose such a guarantee.

I like how Obama says it: Given the increasing diversity of America’s population, the dangers of sectarianism have never been greater. Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.

Christians are not the only religious group in the U.S. If one faith is represented, others must be as well. Otherwise, christianity receives special treatment and there is not religious freedom. A nation cannot have religious freedom if some religions are repressed. Ideally, there would have been no prayer here, but if there is going to be, other faiths must be represented.

In regards to the prayer, it was nothing bad. Asking for peace and wisdom and the like. Hardly anything questionable in that regard.

So what should we do about diversity and multiculturalism? Make America a place for white christians only?

If religion is going to be present in government, then let's hope so. There should be all faiths able to be represented in that case.

After reading articles such as this, I wonder how many people actually would willingly abolish liberties to see their religion take power over the government.

When a particular founder is quoted and appears to NOT be a Christian, always remember that there are these 250 + men. Most of them are NEVER questioned nowadays in regards to their faith. A few like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, and Benjamin Franklin, and James Madison have been isolated with quotes to try to show they were not Christians. We never hear Charles Carroll, Alexander Hamilton, Elias Budinout, John Quincy Adams, Patrick Henry, or many others questioned in regards to faith, with any serious allegations.

Thanks for the reminder, Solo. I believe persecution is the necessity that will purify Gods people and get them Kingdom ready, but still it's hard to see a great nation fall. I really do understand that these things must happen... but again, thanks for the reminder.

Islamic aggression is becoming more pronounced in the free-world as demonstrated by what's been going on in Britain. Sure, it's the extremists but that doesn't make the issue any less dangerous by any stretch of the imagination. If we don't learn from British events such as these then we too will struggle with the same problems. Right now the Brits have a very serious problem which hasn't yet been solved. What they do or don't do should not go ignored for the sake of multiculturalism. At least read the posts concerning the comments by the founders. Hoepfully this can be a simple question with much discussion.

Let me state in the outset that, I do believe this nation was founded with Christian principles. And yes, Solo, has provided a nice litanny of valuable quotes regarding the words of our founding fathers.

Now - I am a firm believer in that doctrine needs to be placed into action. A creedal faith is a lacking faith, IMHO.

Therefore, how do the words of our founding fathers and the actions of this nation throughout history match up?

Now - let me also state that I have purposefully phrased this question neuturally. I am not suggesting any bias to the postive or the negative. Rather, I want to look at the historical account of recorded history.

It is far to easy to merely blame 'liberals' or 'leftists' or whatever, without looking at the totality of history and how words and actions match up.

This I believe will give a precise picture of this nation as founded on Christian principles.
