My wife does this all the time...
I've done phone calls with video before but have never done a meeting.

Anybody else done this?

My wife is trying to set up our small group bible study to have an online meeting tomorrow.

What's your experience with this sort of thing?

None,.. but just for laughs I probably could list all of the things you shouldn't do. We need a good laugh around here anyways. :rofl2

Having done this in a work setting quite often what I have found is that those who are already reluctant to speak up in a face-to-face group will almost never speak up in a teleconference type of setting. Teleconferencing is much more impersonal and you may not see a whole lot of interaction with this approach. Unless you figure out a way to encourage engagement.

Well what I seen with my wife's demo was that we can have private chats while others are talking. We can draw pictures etc...share photos, and etc.

So as long as people show up on time...it will work just fine...they might be hesitant with the new tech...but it will work.

Huh?
We're having our Sunday School class as a web meeting...we aren't going anywhere. Except to our laptops in our homes.
Oh, lol. Yeah. I have voicechats with friends all the time, this wouldn't be much different.

This is going to be a bit beyond that...this will be a group of 20-30 people

You could always turn it into a party then. XD!! :rofl2 Actually it probably wouldn't be a very wise thing to do, but it would make you extremely popular if you just started doing something like this out of nowhere. :cool2 (I have to post the clean version and besides that, who doesn't like the chipmunks right? :wink)

Online church as much as I am introvert ,I,prefer old school. Body language can be seen in videos etc but still .

In church it's more like Livestream...no one gets to talk except the preacher.

Okay,.. *Scratches off the music, dancing girls, and beer,.. and hands you the duct tape.* Come on, all I'm trying to do is get a smile out of you. :)

Besides ,often the ride while not long I pass old homes and get inspiration to photos.pre 1900 homes lie near it . the worst thing for ptsd is isolation .

Yes, we used online meetings at work using Cisco WebEx, Go to Meeting, and Zoom. It's a nice way to conduct meetings and can work well. We even conducted employee meetings between multiple locations. For example, the meeting room in my department had a big screen and we could fit about 50 employees in the room.

You can try it yourself if you have a Facebook account and a webcam. I believe most new laptops probably come with a webcam built in. Where you start a chat message look at the top of the chat and you'll see a video camera icon. Click it and you can call the other person and do video chat.

Okay...
We used WebEx for our meeting.
It was more gooder than our pastor's Livestream sermon.

We got to see everyone and share our trials and victories this week. We had group prayer...it rocked!

It was very successful and awesome.
