This scripture makes sense in the Vines definition of pisteuo, " a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender" . Simple we serve Him!

But if i think pisteuo is just believing, " believe and recieve" I'm believing that Christ died for me, and he will give me all His promises? This seems to be backwards! God is serving us?

More evidence the " believe and recieve" doctrine isn't legitimate.

Nothing is impossible for God, and He demonstrated this in Danial when the king of Babylon through these men that challenged him into a furnace.

It's about God's will not our own. But often He does give to those who believe and put their faith in Him. Sometimes though we just have to persevere.

I agree that sometimes we just need to persevere, but there is one consistent thing that God does; at least for me. He always sends a blessing or note of condolences when he doesn't help. A reminder that he is still there and loves me. He either opens a window when the door closes or he opens the window first. By this I mean a blessing will come just before a disappointment. For example, one day, I got the message from Spirit that "everything is going to be all right." At the time nothing was wrong, but the message prepared me for getting robbed that night. As I tell in my story, "The Remorseful Robber," he called me that next day and brought my purse back. He said he could not get my voice out of his head when I yelled, "Don't take the pictures of my children." LOL

i posted this in another forum it went if i might say completely stupid and i removed it. the whole point of this is about our faith

1 Corinthians 2:5 King James Version (KJV)
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
should we put faith in man or in God? i respect the men and women trying to find a way/medicine to put a stop to this. some places seem to be having success with some meds. but in the nd it was GOD who gave the wisdom and knowledge. we should go to the doctor luke was a physician . we should pray ahead of time for the doctors .
1 Corinthians 16:13 King James Version (KJV)
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
even jesus asked those in the ship in mark 4 after he rebuked the storm peace be still. he said where is your faith. i tell ya had i been on that ship i would have been concerned to . although jesus wasn't he was asleep. he was testing thm. God is using this to 1. test us 2. speak to us. .fact of it is were in a storm and yes we should use precautions . but praying using our faith..

We serve a sovereign God in whom we trust as by faith we believe in all His promises of blessings or cursing, Deuteronomy Chapter 27, 28.

I know God brought me out from my fiery furnace back in 1988 and saved me rom certain death and for me and my house we will serve the Lord, Joshua 24:14, 15

17 If it be so," our God whom we serve is able to deliver us" from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. amen or o me
Its goes to show that Daniels 3 friends were loyal to God, and he helped them in a time of need and was there with them in the trial helping them be sustained.
