Day 33 of the Omer, Hod of Hod: Humility in Humility
Psalm One Thirty:1-8, Psalm Nineteen:1

Psalm 130:1-8

A Song of degrees
1Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. 2LORD, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O LORD, who shall stand?

4But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 5I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6My soul waiteth for the LORD more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

7Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Psalm 19:1

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Everyone has humility and modesty in their hearts, the question is the measure and manner in which one consciously feels it. Am I afraid to be too humble? Do I mask and protect my modesty with aggressive behavior?

Humility must also be examined for its genuineness. Is my humility humble? Or is it yet another expression of arrogance? Do I take too much pride in my humility? Do I flaunt it? Is it self-serving? Is my humility part of a crusade or is it genuine?

Exercise for the day: Be humble just for its own sake.

Love always, Walter and Debbie
