With no written article I am unable to read the history of this incident.

I would ask what was there sexual relationship like?
Was he feeling rejected because there was no despite in the relationship?

After the affair did things improve or not.

Is any recognition shown of the importance of sex in a marriage to men?

Any recognition that withholding sex is for men saying I don't love you?
