I'm 31 (soon to be 32, which is a miracle). I live with my (loving, long suffering) parents because I have mental probs and I'm also kind of a pariah around here. Point is...

...my parents are getting ever closer to retirement. After decades of hard work, their careers are set to end on a high note. They're not rich, but they've moved up a bit, so that's good...they worry less and can do more. Point is, they take lil trips here and there, and leave me to house- and dog-sit. Its cool and all...I am kinda prone to paranoia, but the lil house dogs help. They make noise, they play with me, keep me occupied, all that good stuff.

So, they're taking a lil trip up to NC for some sight seeing and light gambling. Its a combo Anniversary (38th!) trip + B-day fun time for my mama. Short trip; off one day, back before the weekend is over. In a couple months, they're taking a longer trip, further away. They travel a lot, so its cool...they know what they're doing, they're racking up frequent flier miles, etc...but...

...I do ask that your pray for them. They're blessed to now have adequate resources to take off and do things like this, so I'm very happy for them. Having said that...all travel entails some degree of risk, however minor, and that makes me kinda nervous.

This is actually more a combined Praise and Prayer request. I praise God (!!!!!!) for blessing their hardwork with more/better compensation, more respect at work+in the community, reducing the intensity of work place conflicts, and also for blessing them with stable jobs w/ the state, so now they can retire soon-ish and live well. God's work in their lives has been more subtle than His work in my life, but He's there, working in their lives and (I hope, I pray...) in their hearts, too. That's the Praise component.

The prayer request is fairly straightforward. I pray for their safety wherever they go, especially when they get to drinking (they love some booze).

Thanks. :)

I pray angels around them for safety as they travel and angels around you while they are gone that you are comforted in the time you spend away from them. God bless all of you :hug
