“Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins(*),
for the terrible wrath of God is upon all those who do them.
Don’t even associate with such people.” (Ephesians 5:6-7, TLB)

(*) the sins which are listed immediately before in Ephesians 5:3-5.
Other similar warnings are in 1 Cor 6:9-10, Gal 5:19-21, Col 3:5, Rev 21:8)

“Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins(*),
for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him.
Don’t participate in the things these people do.” (Ephesians 5:6-7, NLT)

“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things(*)
the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Therefore do not be partakers with them.” (Ephesians 5:6-7, NKJV)

“Let no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and groundles
arguments [for these sins(*)], for through these things(*)
the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience.
So do not associate or be sharers with them.” (Ephesians 5:6-7, AMP)

Okay, so the question must be: In what form will the wrath of God come upon
these believers who insist on being habitually-disobedient sinners?

“Easy-grace” & “Easy-believism” proponents have told me the NT warnings are about rewards!
And each time, I’ve had a difficult time to stop laughing and getting up off the floor.

We need to consider WHY so many of our churches are NOT preaching against this!

We have several possible reasons for our North American churches preaching
the false doctrine of easy-believism and easy-grace without accountability,
which has deceived many believers into a false sense of security …

• Leadership was deceived by Satan into believing this false doctrine
• Leadership desires the praise of people more than the praise of God
• This doctrine is popular and non-threatening for those who love their sins
• This doctrine will not cause believers to leave the church
• This doctrine will ensure that the tithes keep rolling in

So, pick your poison … and more than one may be chosen for your church.

Important information but the people that need it will never read it, it's not Sunday Morning and they neither the time to read nor the energy to seek anything that is not porn.

I believe it is utter blindness that we see what goes on. I, for one, am not above this and have found myself there from time to time.

To answer your question, the wrath of God is the wrath of God. There is no question of what happens to unbelievers.

I used to wonder why I saw the things I do in "churches", what was taught/said/done. But I realized that my purpose is to live in Faith, not worry about those who are not.

I think we should still warn those who are not, but don't let there error be your focus - trust me - its a fruitless road. That is why Paul talks about not associating with them. That does not mean you should not be around them. It means people should know there is a difference between you and them.

Our position is not one of condemnation either. God has shown me mercy, I will do the same to others.

I honestly think a part of the problem the OP is seeing stems from our tendency to compartmentalize.

What does an "evangelist" have to do with this?

Yes we have our share of those who promote the OSAS doctrine.

It's a heart thing that if your not called to it no one can explain satisfactorily.

Maybe so, but I think it's part of the problem.

"Churches"(and individuals) single out so and so for this, and so and so for that. Instead of being an organism(body of Christ) they turn to being organizations. Why would someone want to do such and such if so and so was deemed to be "called" for it?

Classic case of traditionalism vs truth. If we focus on truth then God can work through us, focus on tradition and.....well......see how it turned out for the Pharisee's.

I don't pretend to think that each of us doesn't have a particular part in the body. However, we should not be concerned about the other parts roles, but rather our own. Put "leadership" on a pedestal and you will clearly see its faults.

I'm reminded of the instructions God gave about building His place of worship, the altar. They were not to build steps that lead up to them lest their nakedness be seen.

What ever but I don't wear shoes on my hands and all of this is off subject I was just trying to help.

As believers they will be chastised by God in this life, potentially even to the point of death.
As ex-believers, whom God did not chastise to the point of death while they still belonged to him, they will not be chastised in this life, but will suffer the wrath of God at the resurrection.

One of the saddest things I have watched God do is to pour out His wrath on a disobedient Christian. I worked with a young man from New Mexico that drove old beat up BMWs to look sophisticated and he was a Sunday School Teacher at his Church. One day he asked me how much was I earning and when I told him he exploded, saying he had been there, I believe, for eight years and he did not earn that much.

From that moment forward, every time I turned around I had to remove Harvey's knife from my back. I began to pray for God to bless Harvey and for several months I prayed and he tried to stab me in the back. When management called him in for termination, he was truly broken and so much it hurt me. I walked up to him and asked if I could help and I drew a very vicious retort. God had listened to me praying and He watched Harvey earning His wrath and God poured out His wrath on a Christian Believer that day.

It is a thing you want no part of, from either end.

these believers who insist on being habitually-disobedient sinners?

The wrath of God is clearly laid out in scripture.
  • For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Revelation 6:17

The wrath of God and of the Lamb is associated with the judgement of the dead.
  • 16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:“We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty,The One who is and who was and who is to come,Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great,And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” Revelation 11:16-18
The wrath of God is associated with being tormented with fire and brimstone.
  • 9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:9-12

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Matthew 25:41-46

5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who “will render to each one according to his deeds”:7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God. Romans 2:5-11

Hello BCsenior. Hey, you and I are the same age! That make us senior friends. We both have seen a steep decline in the walking in the Holy Spirit, first in church pastors, and then in the people. You and I are from "Old School Theology" I still like the old time theologians like John Gill, John Calvin and a host of others like Matthew Henry. You said....

You hit the nail on the head on that one, Bravo! Actually, that's a Chopper "Home Run". Anyone around here will tell you that a Chopper Home Run is first prize. :yes

Before retiring from the full time Church pastorate, I was faced with "neo-evangelicalism." Perhaps you were too. I believe that that false doctrine was perhaps, not the beginning of easy believeism, but certainly enlarged it to the point that today, it is satanic deception. Today, I favor the "House Church" movement. I started two of them that were very successful, that Jesus and His Spirit was pleased to enlarge with their power.

Thank you BCsenior for your thread. I do pray that the Holy Spirit leads just the right folk to be convicted of the Truth that's presented in your prophetic call.

It is imperative that Believers show compassion for all people. Many Believers has placed their standard on others by assuming their light has went out. We must understand justification is based on faith alone and not what we do.

Question? In the parable of the Prodigal Son did the son every stop being the fathers son? No
Did the father ever stop looking for his son? No
There is no other scripture in the bible that shows God the Father running towards his son!

Number 1 false doctrine.

Dont let anyone decieve you. Dont worship the image of the beast. For many will come in my name and decieve many.

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being.

The Image of the beast. The beast who's deadly wound was healed.

Well it is an image but im talking the image of Christ.

"First, I thank my God through Christ for you because your faith is being reported all over the world"

"Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal human being....."

"For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough".

not sure what you consider easy believism and easy-grace there is a accountability the belivers judgment the bema seat of Christ at this judgment there is no condemnation other than what we missed out on of our works what we could have done.. . the white throne judgement is for the Lost . if one is truly saved following Christ there is no false sense of security. NO where is scripture does it teach we can do as we please live as we please with out consequences> we debate about the loss or walking away from salvation . but yet we never focus on the true security we have in Christ .. might i add this is not a defense of can or can not. but what scripture says
