Anyone know the real meaning and perhaps also a brief history of the pentagram.
Witch is often used in astrology and witchcraft?
Shalom!

There are numerous meanings from it being an ancient symbol in Christianity as the five wounds of Christ clear up to pagan Celtic Satanic worship. Trying to explain it would probably fill a book. Best to google and read up on it.

Does it have a similarity to the cross? Man having five limbs..
Pentagram is also beeing turned up side down...

In Christianity it is suppose to represent the five wounds of Christ. It was also used in ancient Greece and Babylonia, more than likely for astrology. It's used today as a faith symbol by many Wiccans. It's suppose to have magical association. In satanic rituals it's used to represent a goats head. The pentagram has many different meanings. Just google it and read up on it.

It's all too mathematical for me. All I remember is a pentagon has 5 sides and a octogon has 8 sides, so whatever a pentagram is I guess it has 5 sides. That's about all I know about a Penta-Whatever. Pentagon/Pentagram. 5 sides.

Can't remember what a hexogon is but I remember the word.

Ok I admit reading "5 wounds" gave me a good guess Penta is 5 sides so I kind of cheated, but I did know octogon. Lol.

I've always heard that it wa satanic. I guess they use it for calling up demons or something.

I would caution bout spending any time studying about it. It would be a waste of time. I was told by the Lord to not waste my time on anything of the sort for a couple reasons. That it is a distraction from keeping my focus on Jesus my Lord, and that it is not of the Kingdom of God and spending time on it even if I had all manner of good intentions about it, that it leaves a residue and will slowly draw one into it and further away from God.

He said that it is not important for His people to know these things. That much of it are lies and it is dangerous. And nothing that we need to know. And that if we need to know something, then He will tell us in due time. But meantime...Focus on Jesus and His Word and prayer & relationship.
