Airlines make money by packing people in. If social distancing rules will apply, maybe they need to make bigger planes.

Not they just have less flights,and or use more then one to the same destination.

Most airlines, like busses, carry cargo. That cargo usually pays for the flight. The passengers create the profit.
For bus lines it's the reverse.

But...
It's going to be a bit before air travel comes back. My FIL works at a plant that makes engines for airplanes. They are all laid off. Orders have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
