Hi brothers and sisters. I have pretty much just joined the forum. I feel an urgent need to ask for you to say a prayer/s for me. I am committing serious sins and I am finding it hard to stop it. I am praying for myself to stop it and I am maybe a bit better than in the past but some of the sin s are still present.

Hi and welcome.
we all struggle with sin, so you are not alone. But God always provides a way out.

we believe in repentance, which is a bit more than just feeling sorry for something you’ve done. Repentance is about making it right, and hitting the target.

in other words, don’t expect to just stop a bad behavior because it makes you feel bad and think you’ll never do it again. That’s not repentance. You have to start a new behavior that hits the mark to fill the void you’ve created when you stopped the bad behavior.

Matthew 12:43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.

you can’t leave your house empty. You must fill it with Godly things.

Paul teaches us that if one lies, he must start telling the truth. If one steals, he must get a job and give to those in need.

whatever your sin is, stopping isn’t the whole answer. You have to stop missing the mark, and start hitting it. Repentance is more about living the way God created us to live than simply feeling bad for missing the mark. the goal is to hit the mark, so don’t give up!

Thanks stove, I prayed for you.
Thank you,
Father, please let your will be known to Ervin and give the strength and courage For Ervin to move past these sins and to be filled with your Holy Spirit to guide, comfort and empower Ervin to be about the work you’ve been preparing Ervin to do through these trials that Ervin would be Your light, shining brightly to show the way, Your Way out of the darkness for those who struggle with the same temptations. We know you have a plan for Ervin, and we trust you our wonderful Savior.
Amen

Hi welcome to the Forum.

Praying that God delivers you from sinful habits.

Hanging around the wrong people is the number one way the enemy keeps us in bondage.

Praying for strength for you.

I began praying for my sins to be removed in 1982 and nothing happened right away. Then the Holy Spirit prompted me by explaining that while God holds the flashlight, we do the work.

Over the years, I have changed but I am still not perfect. It bothered me. Then Stevebolts reminded me that I was being perfected through my suffering and that I was not quite through with this yet.

I also found that for an irrational reason I had bonded with my sins and they had become a habit so I had to work harder and be willing to suffer through withdrawal.

I also found that God does not remove all my sins. There is still one thorn in my flesh; my temper. But as Paul says, his grace is sufficient for me.

I am thrilled you reached out for help. That is the most important step. Now make a list of what you want to change and begin that first step forward. You are not alone. We are all sinners and Christ was particularly fond of sinners. He came to give us chance to repent and change and start again.

I will keep you in my prayers. As one sinner to another, there is hope when we ask for help. Bravo.

P.S. Sin does not make us bad people. It is an archery terms which means to fall short.

I have just prayed for the four of you. I have realised there’s another four that answered instead of three.

We can pray for our sins to be removed, but it is up to us to walk away from those things which make us sin against God. There are none of us that are without sin as that is the nature of the flesh part of man. It's when we allow our self to be led of the Holy Spirit our focus goes from fleshly things to that of Spiritual things. The closer we press into God the more the flesh will temp us, but God will give us the strength to never give up as the battle between the flesh and the Spirit belongs to the Lord.

Here are a few scriptures that will help you and if you need help we will be glad to explain them to you. John 3:5-7; Romans 10:9, 10; Romans 8:5-14; Colossians Chapter 3; Ephesians 6:10-20.

Forever in my prayers.

Prayers.
We can pray for you but your prayers are the most important. Your level of sincerity to change whatever needs changing.
Don't wait for rock bottom. When you are penniless and on the street with no family or friends. Do something about it now.

I prayed for you too.

I am a Christian in Recovery. Soon we will be having our own category. I am a reformed sinner . . . well almost. God alone did not work out. 12-Step programs, alone, did not work. The two of them together worked a miracle in my life. You are on the right track. God comes first.

Then you might consider the 12 Steps. Honesty, faith, surrender, inventory, confession, being willing to give up your sins, asking God for help, making amends, more intimacy with God, finding a ministry where you can help other sinners. Simple step by step process that will wash your sins away. You might also get baptized and join a church.

This forum is very supportive of those who want to change for the better. If you have any questions, let me know. I have 38 years in recovery and counsel people for a living.

Here is our recovery thread. Celebrate Recovery is for Christians.

Receive the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ crucified, resurrected, ascended... and waiting for you to ask Him to COME and indwell your body as the Temple of the Living God.

Then you cannot sin because His Seed, Jesus Himself, remains in you :)

1Jn 3:4 Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
1Jn 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin.
1Jn 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither knoweth him.
1Jn 3:7 My little children, let no man lead you astray: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous:
1Jn 3:8 he that doeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he >>>cannot sin<<<, because he is begotten of God.

1Jn 3:10 >>>In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God<<<, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Start here;

Act 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

He will be Faithful and Come into you, if you die to yourself.

(Mat 16:24) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Rom_8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom_8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Rom_8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Rom_8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

So, God is not answering your prayers. And you hope He answers other Christians prayers for you?

How long have you been Christian? What happened? Why doesn't God answer you prayers?

Hi Quantril. I have admitted to being a Christian in my beliefs about two or three months ago. I was a believer in A God before that but I didn’t believe in some stuff in the Old Testament. Like to which extent the cananites where supposed to be exterminated and a few other things.

I was brought up as a non religious Muslim. My mom is a Christian but my dad was a non religious Muslim. My dad died years ago.

I have been diagnosed 15 years ago as being psychotic, then schizophrenic, then with schizoaffective disorder( a mixture of schizophrenia and bipolar).

Also I apologise since I had some wine prior to writing this message.

All I can say is that I hope that my sins are not wilful.

Thanks
