Lost in Sin!

I would like to look at God's forgivness today!
The verses that I have chosen are Psalm 130:1-4:
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;
2 O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
3 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins,
O Lord, who could stand?
4 But with you there is forgiveness;
therefore you are feared.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD How many times have we all felt that we were in a very deep pit, because of sin, that we really felt that we were crying out from the depths? That we had fallen so far from the Lord's presence, that we were crying out to Him, from the very depths of seperation from Him? Every time that we commit a sin, we really DO end up in the depths of being seperated from God! The sooner that we confess any sin(s) in our lives, the sooner the healing can begin, & the fellowship can be restored!
O Lord, hear my voice. There is only one reason that we even CAN approach the Lord-because we have been Born Again, that we have been adopted into God's family-it is only because we chose to follow Him in the first place! If we hadn't, God would have no reason to EVER listen to us, because GOD CANNOT STAND SIN!! (in this case-a sinful nature!)
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. I find this verse very interesting, in that it mentions ears! We are made in the image of God-(Genesis 1:26). Our God DOES listen to us, He is not deaf to our pleas! How many times have we been so far from the Lord, that we felt He DIDN't hear our cries? There are instances all through the OT, where God's chosen have cried out, asking God why he didn't hear them. Yet-God DOES hear us, but we always have to be remembering who we are talking to! This is not some run-of-the-mill diety! This is the Creator of the entire universe! This is the God who sent His only Son, Christ Jesus, to die for each of our sins! We had better make sure, that we cry out for His mercy! For there is no one more in need of His mercy, than us poor, pitiful humans!
If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? Do I really need say anything about this verse? I know for myself, if God DID keep a record of my sins, there wouldn't be a library big enough to hold all the volumes! :o Yet: God's Word IS true! Look at the truth of Psalm 103:12-"as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. We truely SHOULD praise our Creator, for as He forgave His people Isreal, when they called upon Him, so too, will I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." (Jeremiah 31:34)
But with you there is forgiveness This is one of the greatest truths in the Bible-that God DOES forgive our sins, if we but come before Him, confessing them, & asking for forgivness for them! Look at 1 John 1:9-"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says: "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Notice that simple 2-letter word "if". If we confess-If my people-That is the ONLY condition that God places upon us! He is there for us! He WANTS to forgive our sins! He WANTS to restore fellowship with Him! But WE have to take the first step! What other god is willing to forgive all the sins of our lives, never to remember them again, except OUR God? What other god can give the healing that we so desperatly need, in our bodies, souls, & spirits, after we have sinned except OUR God? And what do WE have to do? Come before Him, in humbleness & ask Him-that's it!
Therefore you are feared. As Believers, there is NO reason to be afraid of God, because we are His Children! :hg1: :hg1: But we must respect God for who He is! We must ALWAYS approach Him with both humbleness & reverence!
We all fall sometime! But our Lord & Savior, Christ Jesus, is ALWAYS there, ready to pick us up, if we but call upon Him!
