Also, how does your view of the 'little season' differ from the Amil view of it?

I don't know how amillennials or others see it, but in the way I currently interpret Revelation, Satan was loosed only amongst those other than the Christians(and perhaps Jews) for a short time in the past. This release does not spiritually affect Christians because for us the current 'millenium' will never end until the great white throne judgement. It does have a physical effect on the world through the actions and beliefs of those contaminated.

How do preterists look at one of the most important books of the Bible? The book of Revelation?

You said that you interpret Revelation "fairly literally" so I wondered how you interpreted Revelation 20.You do not have to answer if you do not want to reba.

Revelation 9:17-19;
"The horses and riders in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and sulfur. A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury".

Now this sounds like science fiction.
Someone with a very good imagination may be able to convince you that they know how to interpret it, but it will always be suspect.

That's why.
And I only picked three verses.

And I just love the way the supposedly "literal" Bible readers take those kinds of verses, and go hog wild with them... turning the "horses" (or whatever wild imagining it might be in the verses they select) into all sorts of things never even mentioned, at all.

How anyone can make sense of the Apocalypse is beyond me.
By making a statement like that you are undermining your own position as a Dispensationalist. If the Apocalyse could not make sense, why would the Lord Jesus Christ take the time and trouble to give John vision after vision. It does take a lot of study and thought, but it makes perfect sense.

Then you answered my statement.
You are beyond me.

Do Preterists say that the book of Revelation already happened?

tob

*edit: forgot to ask; do they believe Matthew 24 has already been fulfilled?

Putting an answer to Revelations 20 would take a book... to my thinking it has to do with when a person believes the Kingdom of God started or will start.. Because it speak of the millenium... Way way more complex then i have a vocabulary for...
That is only a tiny bit of an answer... and almost more of question..

The term preterism comes from the Latin praeter, meaning “past.”

:thumbsup That is what is interesting about it.Yes,it is sometimes confusing

No one denies that Revelation contains amazing and sometimes confusing visions. No one denies that Revelation describes many things figuratively—that’s the nature of apocalyptic literature. However, to arbitrarily deny the literal nature of select portions of Revelation is to destroy the basis of interpretinganyof the book literally. If the plagues, witnesses, beast, false prophet, millennial kingdom, etc., are all allegorical, then on what basis do we claim that the second coming of Christ and the new earth are literal? That is the failure of preterism—it leaves the interpretation of Revelation to the opinions of the interpreter.

literal beast rising out of the sea with seven horns and seven heads? interesting. uhm most futurist will tell you that is a representation of that government under satanic influence in imagery. even preterists will say that.
