The practice of religion is good for individuals, families, states, and the nation. It improves health, learning, economic well-being, self-control, self-esteem, and empathy.

So just what is religion?
I guess people can have a lot of diffeerent explanations.
I think you can say that religion is a gathering of people together that worship a god that they believe in.
Something like that.

True religion is more than what you say and do, it is what is in your heart. It's in the Bible, Isaiah 29:13, NIV. “The Lord says: ‘These people come near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is made up only of rules taught by men.’”

Religion needs to be based upon Christ, not men’s philosophies, traditions, or worldly thoughts and ideas. It’s in the Bible, Colossians 2:8, NKJV. “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.”

Good stuff.
That lead statement, "Religion needs to be based on Christ".
That's true religion.
Now of all the people that say they have true religion, or say they have Christ, but do wrong.
Then they are part of the problems we face in this world.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,

How many of us practice this true religion here among us?
I hope we will consider this for ourselves and others close to us.

Greetings Rollo: James1:27, a favorite verse of mine (except for the last part!) 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Why not "the last part"?
God had given us everything we need to remain apart from sin, and from those who will be destroyed.

So just what is religion?

Religion is man trying to perform some type of self-holiness based on man's idea of what that means.
Legalism, can be a unbeliever or a believer who is trying to have relationship or keep relationship with God, based on Self effort.

Christianity is God making your born again Spirit "the righteousness of God in Christ".

Salvation: is God coming here as Jesus, who Himself is Salvation, to offer you the only way to become a part of God, Himself, Spiritually...for eternity.

Eternal Life is Jesus, who Himself is Eternal life, joining your reborn spirit INTO His, as "One with God, In Christ".

To be "born again", is to be spiritually birthed into God's Holy Spirit, by the Holy Spirit.
