Revelation 4:6 (KJV)
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

Some commentary i read for this verse states these four beasts (not the same as the creatures in Ezekiel 1) are to guard the throne--- guard it from what?

Hi sleepeth, while it has been awhile, I'll give my views. Read also, 4:7ff.

Referring to some commentaries and a concordance, IMO. these are "living creatures", "zooan" in Greek, and represent the realm of the earth by the animal kingdom, including man. These are the divisions of creation (Gen.1)except fish and creeping things, with which, only God established His covenant after the flood (Gen.9:9,10).

Some commentators believe they are cherubim, not angels, and they seem to conform to the scene about them. See Gen.3:24; Ex. 25:26; Eze.1:6; &
10:26.

"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."-Revelation 12:10

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them."-Job 1:6

"And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat."-Luke 22:31

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour:-1 Peter 5:8

Sothenes: You quoted a bunch of scriptures. Are you inferring that the throne of God had to be guarded from Satan?

Just pulling verses from the bible can prove nothing!
