Hello all. My name is Mekros, and im actually a satanist. i know, i know, very off putting, but let me explain. im whats called a atheistic satanist. this basically means that i dont worship satan, i dont have rituals, i dont read the satanic bible, and i dont offer animal sacrifices. those who do are theistic satanists, and they're actually a minority. firstly, please dont spam me because of my religion. respect is very important to satanists, believe it or not. im not here to convert u, i just have a question. isnt it off putting for non-christians how close minded a lot of christians are? one of the key principles in satanism is having an open mind, and thats actually why i joined. im not insulting u, dont worry. im just curious.

My 3th grade teacher was also very closed minded. She insisted that 2 + 2 = 4 and wouldn't take any other answer.
The truth is often off-putting to those who do not want to hear the truth. :shrug

why the blunt tone, friend? it was just a question. and, as a counter argument, i mean close-minded as in the merriam webster dictionary "not willing to consider different ideas or opinions". thats why u have many different denominations of christianity, where they refuse to investigate both sides of the spectrum, and close off their mind to other ideas and opinions. im not saying that christianity is right or wrong, im just asking about your evangelical strategies, and how, to a non-christian, this might be off-putting.

So, how are Christians 'closed minded'?.......coming from a satanist POV of course......

In my experience, Christians tend to write off a he ideas and practices of other religions without a thought. They are brought up a certain way, baptist for example, and immediately write off the practices of, let's say, Catholicism, and have bible verses on hand to defend it. An example is a different forum I was on. I was as polite and courteous as I could be, and asked a question similar to my first post. People on this Christian based forum didn't even really get around to answering it, instead arguing about ideas and philosophies. Some thought that hell was real, others didn't. Some thought God was never angry, others did, ect. Before I knew it, the moderators not only deleted my thread, but also permanently banned my account.

You did not answer my question:

Quoting scripture to support our beliefs is not being 'closed minded'.....

I believed you until you posted again! It looks just like you came here to fight and if that is true, most of here will ignore you or the Admin will boot you. Jim Parker, like myself, just gets to the point. You see my teacher in about the fourth grade insisted that 12x12 was 144 and never did accept that I wanted to answer 124. We're not trying to offend, it is a friendly way to say, "And your point is?"

Quoting scripture isn't being close minded, i agree. However, I think it might become that when a certain scripture, a single one, is debated between two parties, and each side simply refusing to even consider the other persons pov. I'm only bringing up this subject because I have some friends who are satanists as well, yet they, including myself, will pretty much accept people as they are, regardless of religion. If ur friend Is a satanist, and u become a devout Hindu, it won't really affect ur relationship.

And again, to reiterate, I'm not trying to convert you, because that's not what satanism is about, or trying to fight. Again, I believe that examining both sides of the spectrum is important, I'm I am genuinely curious about this topic concerning Christianity.

We have actual commands to steer clear of what you call other religions and what we call idolatry. We have scripture delivered over the course of millenia giving account of what happens when we integrate. It's not pretty. Yes we can have associates and neighbours and many types of relationships with people of other convictions, but again, we are not to have them as people who have actual influence in our lives.

Okay, I understand. So basically, u wouldn't marry someone or a different religion. I guess that might make sense. So what about Christians who choose not to try and convert people. One of my favorite bands, twenty one pilots, is not really a Christian band. Tyler, the lead vocalist, sings mainly about mental disorders, such as depression. Although he has said that he is Christian, and let's ghat influence his music, he never actually sings about God or the Bible. In interviews, he's said that he doesn't want to go on stage and tell people what to believe, but only wants to be a friend to them, especially if they're going through rough times, but has no interest in trying to convert them. Does that make him less of a Christian. I know that the Bible does say that Jesus said specifically to go and make disciples. Again, does this make Tyler less of a Christian?

Indeed. Not only not marry but also not have friends that you "look up to" as it were. Funny thing you mention that band, I also like them. And, like Tyler, most all my "friends" are heathens too.

Each serve their own way according to what they are given. Tyler may not sing about it, but if he is one of the faithful then you can bet your last buck he will give an account if asked. It may not get the spotlight, but non-evangelists help in converting people too. It's how you live your life. Sooner or later someone is going to be asking questions. We are a peculiar people after all and turn many heads. Act with honour and integrity according to God's statutes and you ARE helping make disciples, whether it's obvious or not. So in the short, no Tyler is no less Christian than any other.

Yes, Satan will accept anyone willing to walk his path......

I want you to self reflect on who you think I am. If ur a Christian, chances are ur seeing me in a different light. Ur seeing me as a pagan, a non believer, and probably a bad person. I want to come clean before the moderators ban my account, because I pulled this trick once before on a different forum. I'm not in my twenties, as it suggests in my bio, I'm 16. I'm not a completely sound person, I suffer from chronic depression, anxiety, and minor schizophrenia. I'm also not a satanist. I'm also not a Christian. My goal was to see how Christians would react to an outsider. Two out of three people didn't seem to happy to see me on here. I was a Christian fo most of my life, till about a year ago. I'm also definitely not as nice as my posts would suggest. I'm so close to killing myself, u people have no idea. So hearing how Christians would treat others of a different faith, and getting bland, robot like answers didn't help. I'll be going from this forum now, so go ahead and delete it. I'm so lost, and I now know for sure that Christians, who were really nice to me when I was a Christian, won't help me now. U wouldnt believe the way I've seen Christians treat lesbians, homosexuals, and atheists. U don't know the darkness that is my pain, or the torment I face every night. Here's one last question. If God knew that I would suffer, that I would commit suicide, that I would rot in hell for an eternity, WHY AM I HERE. Goodbye

You spent 15 years or so as a Christian. You well understand the pain repented sin causes ... I strongly suggest you stop playing games with God... We humans can not out wit Him ... He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.. If you choose hell that is on you not Him.. He paid the price for your gift you dont want it on you no one else .. not the ugly christians not the sweet ones it is on you..

It's sad that you arrived here to CFnet with an ulterior motive, and that was to present as truth a scenario that was completely filled with lies. That is truly sad, Mekros.

As you've seen in this thread, there were people willing to discuss your original post's premise with you. They weren't being judgmental, just open and honest about their own situations.

Perhaps there was a bit of caution in the discussion. Most of our membership have been witness to and/or were on the receiving end of comments that were abusive and attacked our Christian faith. So when you introduced yourself as a satanist, and then went on to ask about 'close minded christians', there would naturally have been some scepticism as to whether you were sincere or no.

When you opened up and told us the truth about you, I read a lot of teenage angst. No offense, but I'm glad I'm my age as opposed to your age! I have, however, raised 3 offspring to adulthood, and now one of my offspring is dealing with a 16-year-old. The world you are growing up in is quite different that what the world was like when I was your age.

Some advice for you: Turn off the devices and communicate with your friends in person. Ask your parents for a sit-down-at-the-dining-table-dinner, and talk with them. Discover what they were like when they were your age. What music did they prefer? What tv shows? What had they planned on doing when once done with high school. I'm just tossing some potential topics for you, in case they would help.

Something else: Return to reading your Bible. Doesn't matter if it's King James or American Standard. Our Lord never gives up on us!

Also, I don't know a single person whose life has been perfect. We're humans. We're not perfect. Hence our lives will not be perfect. But learning from our mistakes or our disabilities help to strengthen us, which helps us to grow up. None of us can really do anything without our Lord!

One day, I pray, you will know the Grace of God. You'll look back at 16-year-old you and wish you never kicked against the goads as Saul had done (Acts 9). When and if that day comes, it will be on you to forgive yourself for foolishly joining Christian Forums to make accusations like you have. God, in all His Grace will have already done that.

Like AirDancer, I too am glad I didn't grow up in this age. I tell our children all the time to take great care in what they put in print on social media, because you never know who will see it down the line. Turning off a would-be future employer by being reckless on line with your words is bad. Leaving your digital fingerprint to chastise Christians is quite another level of bad. One day, when you're an adult, you'll look back and consider how small you were thinking. I'm grateful I never had the chance to be that guy in the 80's.

What it boils down to is love. Love is the only thing accepted from God. Anything else is counterfeit. Love God and you'll love yourself and others. It's absolutely the truth and no one will disagree. Anywhere. I hope you are okay!

Christianity is a self willed man made religion. Born again believers are Spiritual beings in a carnal body until the day of their redemption, which is quit different than the visible Christian stage or playwright where people use the bible as a script, acting out the parts of Scripture as in a play. All actors are under condemnation to hell where Satan will suffer torment (he does not rule in hell) but suffers the same as false prophets and all who rebel against God. Born again believers are convicted of sin in their lives... not condemned.
