Scooby doo 2 monsters unleashed. Its the sequel to the first scooby doo movie, released in 2002 I think...
Anyway went to see this today, and overall, I thought it was decent, and better than the first one.
Okay, heres my review:
Story/plot: 6/10
For this kind of movie, the plot was fine, I didn't expect any kind of real good story plot anyway, no reason to. The plot is this(some SPOILERS)
A new muesem is opened about all the villians mystery inc has battled in the past. A couple monsters come back and wreck it and steal the costumes of past criminals captured by the gang. Then the mystery inc is made to look bad by press. So of course they try to solve this mystery of these thnigs. Basic scooby doo stuff.
Sound/music etc: 10/10
Good goofy sound effects and some good upbeat music make this movie enjoyable, nothing super incredible, but good.
special effects/action stuff: 9/10 The effects are quite good, and so are the action sequences and all that. A lot of the action parts are really funny.
Other stuff:
I have few little quibles I have with this movie are:
1: Too jumpy. It seemed to jump to "action sequence" to "emotional moment" to "normal scene" etc, very fast. They be having a kodak moment or whatever then a monster appears to chase them. unpredictable.
2: Too "angsty". This movie, oddly enough, seemed to be about how each character was trying to overcome their personal failure and angst. i.e. scooby and shaggy are loser detectives, daphne is just a pretty face, velma is a dork, fred is a useless leader, etc. Kinda strange I thought.
