Matthew Chapter 7
3 And why behold you the mote that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye?

I gotta tell ya mutzrein, the days following were unforgetable. Never read the bible, no wish to do so. The world opened up, the Word of God came to life giving me a point of view so much broader it was like zooming out on a grand scale or something. Seemed like I had been looking at things through a Scot Towel roll my entire life. I was getting 2 or 3 "Wow!"s a day. :

Hi Mutzrein: Those are awesome verses from 1 Cor. 15. That God will someday be All in all. Amen.

Hi Potluck: John 5:22 is certainly a key verse to remember. For there are a number of places in the NT where it speaks of God doing the judging, such as in Acts 17:31; Rom. 2:1-16; Rom. 3:6; 1Thes. 1:6, Heb. 13:4; 1 Pet. 1:17; and Rev. 18:8; but we know from John 5:22 that God the Father hath committed all judgment unto the Son.

Hi Collier: Our daily hope should certainly be the catching away of the church/body of Christ, as you quoted in 1 Thes. 4:13-18. But I disagree that when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, is the same event.

Look, it says in 1 Thes.4:13-18, which you quoted, and also in 1 Cor. 15:51-56, that only Christ meets us in the air, that is, the dead who put on incorruption, and those living put on immortality. We will have spiritual bodies fit for the heavenlies, where we will go as heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ. In Eph.1and following, we read that God blesses us with spiritual blessings in the heavenlies. They, undoubtedly, will so marvelous, so wonderful beyond anything we could imagine. And what will we be doing but be witnessing to the immeasurable riches of His grace and kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Let me quote from the RSV: Eph. 2:6,7,

"God....hath raised us up with him (Christ), and made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the coming ages he might show the immeasureable riches of his grace in his kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."

And we are going to be witness to spirit beings throughout the celestials as we read in Eph.3:10, "...that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places."

So, our future is not on the earth. Israel will be the chief of nations under the Messiah.

I was rereading those and I guess I can understand why you want to hear what I think of them.

I see it all around me, people always talking about everyone else "they did this... and they did that" and those people are not perfect either. The dried old phrase "The pot calling the kettle black" comes to mind.
I guess what I am trying to say is this, I believe the scripture to mean this: Look at and cure your own faults first, then when you no longer have any, you can go after your brother and cure his faults because then you will see them clearly..

Unfortunately, although this Bible verse does...explain itself, most people ignore the fact that Jesus Christ was quoting from the 10 commandments, which He wrote Himself on Mt. Sinai......
