I wrote this because of the situation that I have been writing about in the prayer request forum.

Shelter From The Storm – by God's Child
As the storm moves in closer
The lightning strikes
And the wind picks up.
It’s stronger now
Than I could ever have imagined,
But there is no shelter in sight.
I look up to see God’s hand
Slowly reaching down to the earth
Near to where I stand
Alone and afraid,
I run to His hand
To stand beneath,
To shelter me from the storm.
My face is wet,
But not from the storm.
It’s wet from the sadness and pain,
That is all revealed by the rain.
The storm attacks stronger than ever before
Leaving me with thoughts too powerful to ignore.
While I’m under God’s hand
He comforts me and helps me to understand.
The storm is here for a reason,
Even though it is out of season.
As I walk under His care,
He points me in the direction
That leads away from despair.
I begin to see through the storm to the other side,
Where I fall to my knees before God
And promise to forever abide.
