To me it is all about semantics and how you define your terms. To me idols are things that you worship in place of the real God in heaven. A image of God in different. It is an artistic depiction of someone we love like a portrait or photograph. God gave us eyes for a reason. Art, nature, each other. To me, as long as we do not WORSHIP these things they are acceptable in God's eyes and not against the commandment.

To me, it is what God defines, (not what you or I define), as in the Word of God I posted above and more below;

Lev_26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
Isa_40:20 He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
Isa_45:20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
Jer_10:14 Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
Jer_51:17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
Dan_2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Nah_1:14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.

Instead, I recommend receiving Christ Come, and put away the images/idols;

1Jn 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
1Jn 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

There is only one Shroud and it was kept secret for 1900 years. No bible can call the Shroud a fake b/c its also the word of God on linen.

OK you win the semantics game but images of Christ are not going anywhere so I guess I am a sinner at heart. In reality, we cannot create an image of God because he is spirit or energy. But Christ lived on this earth and I like to look at his picture. I like the ones where he has olive skin and long hair. But images are not as important to me as symbols. I wear my cross everywhere. I am going to get a tattoo of a cross because when I go to the emergency room they take my cross away. I know children cling to things so they have something to hold onto when mom leaves the room. So maybe it is my inner child who loves my cross and pictures of Mary. Still the Bible says to put away childish things away so maybe I just to need to grow up. This is a favorite topic of mine. In my article, "The Many Faces of the Holy Spirit," I argue that we can imagine the Holy Spirit anyway we want as long as we understand she is just a spirit. LOL

"Blessed are those who have not seen and believe."

Why do we need the shroud when God is the one who calls us to Himself,
and Christ is the one who died and we believe by faith, as the Holy Spirit reveals
the truth to us through His word.

The world wants proof, but TRUE Christians aren't of this world, we are just in it for a while
and our proof is the calling on our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

God bless you all as we all continue our walk in faith.

He said he came into the world to give sight to the blind. He said while you have the light to walk in it.

These two images are quite convincing..definitive proof. And you can see her string of roses as well as the sword tip.

That's the Immaculate Heart of Mary back there.

The shroud of Turin was long ago proved a fake.

And thinking you are seeing icons in it, you are simply suffering from
pareidolia păr″ī-dō′lē-ə
  • n.
    The perception of a recognizable image or meaningful pattern where none exists or is intended, as the perception of a face in the surface features of the moon.
  • n.
    The tendency to interpret a vague stimulus as something known to the observer, such as interpreting marks on Mars as canals, seeing shapes in clouds, or hearing hidden messages in music.

My recommendation is that you turn from this idol and all idols; Turn to Jesus Christ the True Living God by Faith. Not because you think his image was burned onto a cloth. (idolatry).

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(Joh 20:29) Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Believe in Jesus Raised from the dead, yes. But NOT because you think he is photo-flashed on a cloth. That is idolatry.

No, I do not watch movies or give attention to them.
I'm sure you give attention to something.
Does that make it an idol?
Could you please explain YOUR understanding of what an idol is?
(since you don't agree with the bible dictionary of the word, which I had posted).

Perhaps this will help...

Eze_14:6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; >>>Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols<<<; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

These Israelite folk repented;

Act 2:36 Therefore let all the >>>house of Israel<<< know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Hence;

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

1Jn 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
Sorry Son of Israel...
I really do NOT know what your intention is in the above.

I don't know if the world wants proof.
Science sure doesn't.
I think if Jesus came back tomorrow, descending from the skies,
most would think it's a hallucination.
Faith is called faith, because we believe by faith.

The only thing I found that proved who God was the Shroud of Turin.

I have a few vids based on Science of course b/c Science would be the only people who could prove it.

Here's some Science on it

Part 1

Fabric of Time

Event Horizon in the Tomb proves Jesus had to be hovering to make both sides (front and back) of the Shroud.

35min with Isabel Piczek

The part where the Scientist say you can't put blood serum on it so people with Ultra violet light can find it centuries later could be a hoax.

You can identify the man in the Shroud just with the Sacred Heart

These images got on it when the nuns tossed water on it to put out the fire in the 1500's.

Water stains.

You can now see its Jesus Christ as this man in the Shroud w/ 100% certainty. And if you calculate the odds of there being an Immaculate Heart on the other side it goes to 1000%.

They say that it was Jesus, i doubt it. According to the bible the cloth Jesus was wrapped in was split in two parts. Its possible that it was a person in Jesus time, because it seems that people were crucified all the time in Jesus Day.
