I am sorry to hear that =(

I am glad that you found a natural remedy. Anything that helps away from narcotics is a gigantic plus. My husband generally requests no narcotics at the hospital if he goes in right away so they put it in his chart. Tramadol was still powerful, though - he hates how it made him feel so he found natural alternatives, too. Turmeric worked great for pain when he needed it.

Other good remedies are cinnamon and honey, but cinnamon gives me heart burn and I'mnot to crazy about honey.

im not so much into botanicals :-(

i think its because i seem to be stuck with Abilify (an "atypical" antipsychotic...don't take it unless you absolutely need it, m'kay?) indefinitely, and the herbs, etc. can mess with blood levels....up, down, all around....

more than vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. oh, and...mah budget. I load up on Orthomolecular-style supplementation for less than a couple brand name herbals at high doses would cost. one could always do both, I guess...always talking to some kind of health pro, keeping an eye on drug interactions, etc.

for my low, low mood...I ditched the Prozac the psych pushed on me in favor of an amino acid, DL-phenylalanine. im more into vitamins than amino acids, but this bad boy is -awesome- ...

it helps me concentrate, lifts my mood, somehow I seem to sleep more soundly (weird), and...

some 'nutritionally-informed' pain management specialists use it in pain treatment. I think its more to elevate mood, plus high(er) doses apparently help boost pain killers...

I did read that it has helped --some-- people avoid narcotics and/or lower their daily intake. always a good thing.

:)

Obviously the second and alright,.. but when did God curse the world? Are you talking about the great flood? :confused
genesis3:
17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’
“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”

Not just thorns and thistles but illnesses etc

Since I'm currently battling a bit of a cold these questions started coming to my mind. Did sickness start occurring after the fall of mankind? What is the reason that we biblically get sick? Did Jesus Himself get sick? (Although on that last question I'm guessing that even if He did He could just heal Himself afterwards.) Does anybody know the answers to these questions? :thinking
Jesus was never sick because his body was inside the envelope of the Holy Spirit.
The story of Adam and Eve is regarding the spiritual nature of Man. Before the fall
man had no law to live up to because God walked with Adam in Paradise. So with
no law, then there was no spiritual death. The Law brings death. Accepting that
Jesus will forgive our sin, brings life. Jesus was able to heal the Spirit of many
people, and this resulted in their healing.

All laws are morality, but written down.

Not all of the 613 Levitical are morality, except the moral laws we are still instructed to obey, but sometimes the flesh part of us can fall from them as the flesh is weak and prone to sickness.

There are laws (commandments) of God that were especially written just for the Hebrews pertaining to the rituals of the Temple, sacrifices, festivals, Torah, Kohanim and Levites, the King and the Nazarite. Then there are the existing moral laws (commandments) for all of us to still follow as in prayers and blessings, love and brotherhood. The poor and unfortunate, treatment of the Gentiles, Marriage, divorce and family. Forbidden sexual relations, business practices, employees and servants. Vows, oaths, swearing, Court and Judicial procedures. Injuries and damages, property and property rights, criminal laws. Prophecy, idolatry and all its practices as the moral laws (commandments) keep us in line with the will of God.

I never claimed that all of scripture is obsolete. Just Biblical law.

Hebrews 8:13
In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 12:24
And to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

2 Corinthians 3:14
But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.

Hebrews 9:15
Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

Jeremiah 31:31
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

2 Corinthians 3:6
Who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Luke 22:20
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

Jeremiah 31:33
But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Hebrews 9:16
For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established.

Hebrews 8:1-13
Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.” ...

Daniel 9:27
And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

Jeremiah 31:34
And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Genesis 6:18
But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

Deuteronomy 29:1
These are the words of the covenant that the Lord commanded Moses to make with the people of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant that he had made with them at Horeb.

Romans 13:1
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

What does the curse of the law have to do with this flesh getting sick at times as we are no longer under the law except for the moral parts. IMO the flesh gets sick because it can not be in obedience to God's commands and statures as the flesh is enmity against the spirit.

It is written that the flesh itself is not opposed to Spirit.

John 1:3
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

That verse has nothing to do with what is written in Romans 8:7, 8 that states the carnal (flesh) mind is a hostile enemy of God. In the flesh we all have the sin nature and have sinned against God. This is why God's plan of salvation through Christ was before the foundation of the world so that those who believe in Christ can become Spiritually transformed from the old man to the new Spiritual inner man.

The only part of God's laws that are obsolete under the new covenant of grace are that of what were especially written just for the Hebrews pertaining to the rituals of the Temple, sacrifices, festivals, Torah, Kohanim and Levites, the King and the Nazarite. The moral parts are still to be followed even today.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Christ has already fulfilled those parts that were especially written for the Hebrews as the rest of the laws are still to be followed until Christ returns and fulfills everything written in the laws.

He has already done that at His death and resurrection. He has fulfilled all the law.
There is no law left unfilled. Jesus mentioned that:

John 19:30
When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Hebrews 9:24
For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

John 17:4
I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.

1 Peter 3:18
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,

What Jesus fulfilled within His death and resurrection was that of the Temple laws of sacrificing as He was made to be that last sacrifial Lamb without spot as without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin, Hebrews Chapter 9.

Until Christ returns and fulfills everything written in the scriptures we are still to keep that of the moral laws which are, prayers and blessings, love and brotherhood.

We need to present ourselves a vessel of honor that God delights in as we allow the light of Christ shine in us and through us. This is a testimony of Gods grace and mercy as it is not ourselves that do any good thing, but Gods Spirit working in us and through us as we surrender our will to that of Gods will to be done.

Morality in God is His greatest commandment of love as we treat others as we want others to treat us. God is love and wants us to love and treat others as He loves and treats us.

Until Christ returns and fulfills everything written in the scriptures we are still to keep that of the moral laws which are, prayers and blessings, love and brotherhood.

Done!

John 19:30

John 19:30
When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

What was finished was on the cross was God's plan of salvation before the foundation of the world through Christ who laid His own life down so that to whoever believes in Him will have eternal life with Him, John 3:16. There is no more sacrifice for sin, Hebrews 10.
