Are you unable to understand freedom? I suggest that you read the First Amendment...
Please don’t speak to me in such a degrading manner. It is not only disrespectful, but stirs aggression. I try very hard to be respectful to others, and I believe I have been respectful of you.

There was a time when people on this site degraded one another on a post by post basis. It took a lot of effort to weed that spirit out of this site and I won’t let that spirit take root. Please be considerate of others when addressing differences. Thank you.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
We cannot loose the context in which this was written. This section states that Congress does not have the authority to establish or favor a national church. We are not a monarchy nor will congress resemble the role of King or Queen where monarchy is the head of the church. In other words, the government will not be the head of the church nor will not prohibit the church in any way, unlike England.

While there are those who disagree with Christianity they have the Constitutional right to express their opinions, The President is sworn to uphold the Constitution and the other laws of the United States whether or not they are in agreement with Christianity or not
Your moving the goal post. You stated that Joe Biden honors God fearing Christians and is a Christian himself. Remember, we are talking about Joe here and the people he surrounds himself with. Nobody forced Joe to pick a Vice President that supports abortion. And let’s not lie to ourselves. While there are legitimate cases for abortion, the vast majority of abortions are murder, not healthcare. So let’s be careful here and not call what is evil good when we refer to the abortions that fall under murder. In the same breath, let’s not call viable healthcare evil.
t is unfortunate that you don't understand the freedoms that we have in this country and/or the duties of the President and Vice President to uphold the laws of this country. One of the main principles is that all citizens have their rights, including freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
Where is it a law that a Vice President is required to be pro abortion? Where is the law that states a transgender has to be picked as part of the presidents cabinet? There is neither a law for or against such a thing. So this isn’t about any law.

Im talking about Joes character here, not an interpretation of the law or constitution. We can easily tell a persons character by the company they keep. Trumps character was on full display by those he surrounded himself with and the freedom of the press was quick to capitalize on Trumps character assassination. Why then do you abandon your Christian values to defend Joe’s shortcomings as easily as others have abandoned their Christian values to defend Trumps short comings? In this way, how are you any better than them?
Neither President Joe Biden nor Vice President Kamal Harris supports "the murder of millions of children and the advocation and advancement of sexual perversion". If you have any actual proof of either of these then post it; if not then your statement is obviously false.
You don’t see the overwhelming cases of abortion as murder? Tell me then, what is murder from a biblical perspective? Give me an appropriate use of abortion and then give me an abuse of abortion where it is murder.

When a Christian man appoints a transgender as a top level advisor over national healthcare because he chooses diversity of his cabinet over God fearing Christians, then it’s seen as a national promotion of what God fearing Christians consider sexual perversion.

I believe this starts with ourselves first, then those around us, especially our family.

While I love our country, I don’t know that I like our structure tilted so deeply toward capitalism. And maybe I’m misguided in saying that, so please hear me out and understand what’s behind that statement.

By design, our country at its working fundamental core is structured to fracture the family unit. Our economy is structured where the overwhelming majority of married households require both parents to work. In many situations, it’s financially to a couples advantage not to get married so continued assistance can be received.

Many parents put their children in daycare at very early ages where the children are with strangers to whom they naturally bond. When they come of age to go to school, they are put in large classes and teachers loose the ability to parent and protocol requires teachers not involve themselves in teaching moral structure but instead, are taught to enforce social structure. Teachers are explicitly told not to form relationships with the children, but instead they are to pull back and follow policy set by the school board.

Children then become part of their own social groups and they lean on those groups for guidance, acceptance and status.

When we look at the average 10 year old in the typical home, they spend the majority of their day outside the home. Mom and Dad get home in the evening and when it’s all said and done, the child is lucky if they get 15 -30 minutes of one on one face time with Mom or Dad a day.

A study was done that found out that when moral statures compete between what a parent teaches and what the child’s daily social group promotes, the social group rules the decision in most every case.

In part, I believe what we are seeing in our country is the symptom of a fractured family unit. We can treat the symptom and we sure spend a lot of time battling the symptom as if it were the cause. But until we treat the cause, the symptom will always be there.

I believe we need economic reform. Wages need to be able to support a family based on the income of one parent so the other parent can stay home and raise the children. We need smaller classrooms with more parental input and participation and we need to hire teachers that can form healthy relationships with our children and those teachers need the authority to instill moral values and discipline.

Most of all, we need parents to spend quality time with their children. Make it a point to connect with them each day. Make it a point to get involved in their day, each and every day.

Until we do this as a nation, I don’t believe things will get much better. On the contrary, the symptoms will increasingly become manifest within the very fabric of our culture.

In summary, as a country I believe we have brought most of this upon ourselves. We can’t honestly blame our political system without first looking at the social structure we ourselves participate in.

It's obvious that you and I disagree on these issues. You said that people should be considerate of others when addressing differences. I assume that this applies to you as well as me. Correct?

I am not "moving the goal post", a hostile comment! You make the claim that Vice President Harris "supports abortion", a hostile comment. People are guaranteed freedom under the US Constitution, and the Vice President is sworn to uphold the Constitution. The Supreme Court ruled in Roe v Wade , 410 U.S. 113 (1973), that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction." That is about a pregnant woman's liberty! Perhaps you don't agree with it but what other freedoms do you disagree with?

If the President chooses a transgender person to be a part of his cabinet he is choosing somebody on their merits; it has nothing to do with their sexuality. Why are you judging people's ability to fulfill their governmental role on their sexuality? That is discrimination based on sex, which is against the law!

Regarding abortion... It is a medical procedure that is decided upon by a woman and her physician and/or midwife, and their private decision must be free of government interference, just as the decision to disconnect someone from life support must be freely made if there is no chance of their survival. If a baby has no chance of surviving outside the womb, then similarly the pregnancy should be terminated to protect the woman. It is and must be her choice. "Abortion" has become an inflammatory term to those who don't understand the situation and try to eliminate the freedom of others, as determined by the Supreme Court.

You wrote that I abandon my Christian values to defend Joe’s shortcomings. You also wrote, "Please don’t speak to me in such a degrading manner. It is not only disrespectful, but stirs aggression. I try very hard to be respectful to others, and I believe I have been respectful of you." Does this not apply to you?? I will use your own words in reply: "Please don’t speak to me in such a degrading manner. It is not only disrespectful, but stirs aggression. I try very hard to be respectful to others, and I believe I have been respectful of you." Is there some kind of double standard here? You can accuse me of being disrespectful, but doesn't that apply to you as well. I could just as easily say that you have abandoned your Christian values -- but I won't be that disrespectful.

Second reply...

You wrote, "When a Christian man appoints a transgender as a top level advisor over national healthcare because he chooses diversity of his cabinet over God fearing Christians, then it’s seen as a national promotion of what God fearing Christians consider sexual perversion." Are you serious? Do you know the qualifications of this person to serve in this position? Do you think that a person's sexual preference should take precedence over their qualifications? What about the color of their skin, national origin, religion, or any other attribute that you may not like? Should those also disqualify them, so that we are governed by WASPs and nobody else? Do you really think that someone's sexual preference should disqualify them from serving? What other illegal disqualifications are you in favor of? Or, in your words, " Why then do you abandon your Christian values"?

All Good points Jason.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

unfortunately, I think this has changed meanings from our founders original intent. Point in case. Local schools could have any denomination supported depending on the community. Unlike England, the Church of England was the only sanctioned church by the Monarchy which the government was also formed under. Everything was under Monarchy. This means only church of England could be promoted within any government entity, including schools. Perhaps one of our British members could correct me if I’m mistaken or they could shed more light on the subject.

Anyway, those hostile to the teachings of Christianity take that section to mean hostility toward Christian values. To them, it means biblical principals are to be left at the doorstep.

anglican ,the commonwealth of Virginia was the church of Anglican ,each colony had its own charter of religious tolerance .

only forsyth's Georgia was truly tolerant ,Jews and Catholics and the Wesleyan movement in the city of Savannah . this is mentioned on the tour especially the Chippewa park area and the lone head stone for Jews by the temple mikveh isreal ,and st.john of the cross .

my surname is tied to that city

I’m sorry if you take that as hostile. My apologies for our misunderstandings.

Help me understand what’s going on here. It was my understanding we were talking about Christian character. I made the mistake of letting my child hang out with the wrong crowd when he was younger. It’s caused much strife in his life and he is now coming back to his roots and keeping better company.
In my view, the same principal is applied. The people one associates with is a reflection of their character. Take Jesus as an example, he surrounded himself with 11 devoted men and one misguided individual. Jesus didn’t surround himself with religious leaders who bent the law to their own glory.

I thought we were talking about Joe and who he surrounds himself with as a testimony of his Christian beliefs. How then did we end up talking about the constitution and his right to choose to represent our country?

You wrote that one thing we can all agree on is, we as Christians want a President who believes and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord, a President who prays for our nation and honors those who fear the Lord. That describes President Joe Biden perfectly.

Joe Biden is a criminal;

His agenda is the enemy of America.

Their merits, really? I question that unless it is done without bringing attention to the person's sexuality. The moment their sexuality is even mentioned, the real motive is put forth.

Here's another example. When candidate Biden was deciding on who he would ask to be his running mate, he made a specific decision that his choice would be a woman, period. Then, after he made that decision, he took it a step further and set his priority on a black woman. Why? Because his decision was based on political gain first and not due to the qualifications.

It's one thing to choose a woman from a number of potential candidates but an entirely different thing to set a prerequisite of gender before making the decision.

I don’t see him upholding many core Biblical teachings when it comes to the sanctity of life or marriage.
Overall I think your point of view is quite measured and not too biased. But Trump himself made a mockery of marriage by having affairs. Trump was immoral and therefore a terrible role model for Christians or anyone. Looks like Biden is better in this area.

Please take some time to evaluate President Trumps children in comparison to Joe Biden.

Donald Trump never claimed to be a Christian until recently.

Joe Biden on the other hand has had some questionable “habits” that seem to have been noticed by quite a few people.

I don’t know that I would say he made a mockery of marriage. Do I like his locker room banter? Absolutely not. It was uncalled for, demeaning and juvenile in my opinion. Did he have an affair? I can’t say with certainty, But what I do know is this. If there was any infidelity during his presidency, it would have been found out just like ole Bill orKennedy was found out. As far as being a role model, I don’t recall any scandals involving his children either. Please don’t misunderstand me here.

Like most of us, there is no perfect family and because of this, I don’t like throwing rocks at others, let alone comparing two families that are in the spot light and judge them based on who has the most accusations toward them. Having been falsely accused at one time, I understand what that feels like to be innocent, yet treated as guilty. As a result, I tend to be cautious and skeptical of accusations and while I don’t dismiss most accusations, I reserve most opinions on them until more information comes out. Given enough time, the truth generally comes out.

Now to the issue of marriage being made a mockery. Let’s talk about same sex marriage. This is a mockery of marriage. Please don’t think I’m homophobic either. I fully support civil unions between same sex couples who are devoted to each other. This is not to say I support homosexuality. What I’m saying is this. We live in a civil society that has secular laws regarding the rights and benefits of married couples ranging from healthcare to estate planning and funerals. It is my belief that Same sex couples that are committed to each other should receive the same legal treatment as married couples on these fronts.

Civil Unions can Hold the same legal authority as Marriage. I believe marriage is a sacred institution rooted in biblical principals and ordained by God between a man and a woman. To allow same sex marriage makes a mockery of our nations biblical roots and blurs the fundamental idea of family which is deeply rooted in procreation.

If we want to compare Trump and Biden in regard to the family unit and how that played out in picking his cabinet, Biden has a Vice President that supports abortion. Pence is pro-life. Biden has a transgender cabinet member in charge of national health. Don’t fool yourself, there is an underlying agenda here. Lastly, yesterday I was scrolling MSN.com and apparently a black fellow Biden picked had some sexual charge from back when on his record. I didn’t read the article but it struck me as odd that Biden would put somebody on his cabinet with a known sexual charge. When it comes to these three topics, what does this say about Bidens view on the family unit? To me, it screams the further denigration of our countries traditional core values on the family unit.
