Some amusing quotes for your Friday

"Evolution is a 'theory', just like gravity. If you don't like it, go jump off a bridge."

"There is no theory of evolution. Evolution is a fact. The theory is of how it happened."

"It is a lot better to come from an evolved monkey than from a fallen angel."  Marcellin Boule.

"Keep your stickers out of my science book; I don't paste crap in your bible."

"Evolution is cleverer than you are."  Francis Crick.

"The human body was designed by a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area ?''

"I have a hunch that the unknown sequences of DNA will decode into copyright notices and patent protections."
E. Knuth.

Here is a great quote as well!

Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

God said it, it must be true. :)

You do realize of course, that accepting the reality of evolutionary thoery does not equate with rejecting God. In other words Evolutionism aint athiesm.

Hi,

Please don't use caps when when posting.

Rule 13 - Posting Etiquette:
Please keep the posts down to a respectable length. You stand a better chance of getting your point across. People may not want to read them if they are too long. No using all CAPTIAL LETTERS in your responses. That is considered an aggressive action.

I have done this myself and had to be warned so don't feel bad.

It is just one of the rules here.

This is not attacking your post I just want to save you some headaches down the road. :biggrin

Take care,

Robert

Evolution is anti-God.

The Bible teaches that God created the earth in a perfect way. Here is what it says:

Genesis 1:31
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morningâ€â€the sixth day.

The one true God is holy (please see Genesis 1:1 - Revelation 22:21).

If a holy God says that everything is "very good", we should accept this testimony.

Yet we look at the world today and it is certainly not "very good" anymore is it?

What happened?

It is called "sin."

Adam and Eve sinned and it caused things to no longer be "very good."

So we see that death and suffering is a result of man's sin.

And we also know that there was no death or suffering before man's sin.

Evolution teaches that death and suffering was around before man's sin.

Therefore, evolution goes directly against the Bible and the character of a holy God who created a world that was "very good."

Conclusion: evolution is anti-God.

I agree with your conclusion.

Evolution is not biblical and is anti- God

Here is a good quote for the day...

Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Words of encouragement! :biggrin

Evolution is anti-God.
Probably.

Well if it was very good , what happened? You can't blame man for the problems. God knew the snake roamed at will and God made man who was able to be tempted. Bill Gates made Windows but it is prone to Virusus . I don't know who made Linux but it is not.

The one true God is holy (please see Genesis 1:1 - Revelation 22:21).
The engineers at Chevrolet say their car is the best deal for the money.

If a holy God says that everything is "very good", we should accept this testimony.
We should accept the word of the engineers at Chevrolet for their conviction.

Yet we look at the world today and it is certainly not "very good" anymore is it?
The reality is that Chevrolets and most GM products will nickel and dime you to death.

What happened?

It is called "sin."

Adam and Eve sinned and it caused things to no longer be "very good."
You can't blame Adam and Eve for the problems when the overseer didn't see what should have been seen.
So we see that death and suffering is a result of man's sin.
If a parent leaves a loaded gun on the coffee table and leaves small children home alone and they are injured or worse because of the oversight we usually punish that parent.

And we also know that there was no death or suffering before man's sin.
Only Christians have sin and only the bible makes that claim.

Evolution teaches that death and suffering was around before man's sin.
No evolution teaches that man is subject to the same forces of nature as other animals.

Therefore, evolution goes directly against the Bible and the character of a holy God who created a world that was "very good."
I will agree that you cannot accept the bible and accept evolution.

Conclusion: evolution is anti-God.
Probably.

If a person really wants to know why God's good creation was corrupted then they had better read the bible.

But that is for a person that really wants to know... :biggrin

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Why not? You are always welcome. Invite friends too.

You do realize that everything you have said regarding evolution doesnt matter right? Those verses are simply not taken literally problem solved for the theistic evolutionist.

Ignore and deny the clear meaning of scripture, the words of Christ and salvation doctrine and the problem is still there.

No hope and no truth.

Eve wasn't the literal mother of all living. She wasn't literally taken from Adams rib the flood wasn't global and Jesus isn't the last Adam because there never was a first one.

Wow! If that doesn't create some problems with bible doctrine then nothing will.

Faith cometh by hearing and not taking the bible literally? :o

I don't think so...

Faith cometh by hearing and not taking the bible literally?

Exactly! Now you are getting it. Faith comes from believing in and trusting Jesus.

I trust the Jesus of the bible not the invented Jesus of those who can't trust the bible.

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Eve was literal woman and a literal serpent deceived her.

2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Keep the other Jesus... I don't want him or the false science that comes with him.

What does a literalist make of the trees of knowledge and the tree of life? Do you believe in actual apples that would grant life, and actual fruit that made people gain understanding?
I raised this query in the Bible study section, I've had quite a few responses but everyone seems to think of these as meaning "sin", "satan", "mans way vs Gods way" or some such.
