Something to think about

We know that persecution to death is very real especially in other countries where many are being tortured and killed for their faith in Christ and I am sure will come to America in time. The question we need to be asking ourselves, if we are truly being Christ-like in all we do and say, are we going to endure and proclaim the name of Jesus with our dying breathe or are we going to turn from Him in order to save our own life or the life of our families. Something to think about as you read what Jesus went through for us and what others are going through for His sake.

good points, excellent Scripture selections. In Christ, we have eternal life. Without Christ, on The Broad Road, we walk unto destruction.


Just a side note...not to get to psychobabble-y about things, but sometimes...I wonder if the emphasis on Pre-Tribulation rapture is not at least partly rooted in escapism. I mean...God is kind, God is Good, and God has been good to me, so I'm reluctant to be too critical, but...

traditionally, Christians weren't Pre-Trib. The RCC isn't, most of the old school Protestants weren't (and the remaining ones still aren't), and then the idea seems to have gained traction...


thru Hal Lindsay (I think I spelled his name correctly) and the efforts of Pat Robertson and other big time Pre-Tribulation believers who, I think its worth noting...

a) profited mightily off what is, at best, an unorthodox interpretation of Scripture (or...was, for most of Christian history, anyway...) and b) are involved in a -whole- lot more than just the Pre-Trib debate. Christian Dominionism, anti-socialist movements, they're often big funder$ for super-duper-right wing elite groups...

so, yeah. kind of a long ramble, but...-shudder- it bothers me, let's put it that way.

thanks again for the posts, fhg and diane g cook. I enjoy being washed and made clean, the blessings...but am I willing to die for Him, if events move towards that direction? good question...kind of like self-examination to see if one is truly, fully in Christ.
