my state's governor has issued a 15-day state of emergency, complete with activating the national guard. -eek-

of course, its covd-19. the bigger issue, for me as someone who lives here...what does this -mean- , really? im kinda scared. life has been carrying on fairly normally, where i am. what does this mean?

and...so i ask that your pray for the national guard people involved in this, those in power, those in need of serious medical help.

thanks. :)

I think your state is just this short of declaring Martial Law.

The guard has been called here,my,stare has blocked access to the keys, county driven ,and no,vacationers to my,state, beach ,public beaches closed and also boating restructed ,metro Dade ,and Broward on lock down .

More then I like but not exactly martial law.
Alot of this is stuff done during hurricanes .the guard setting up hospitals ,hardly martial law .helping with the quarentine.

It means I'm recalled and will break open your door and force you into arminism.

ok. now i understand, better. :)

not to sound like a conspiracy person, but...I think this state has had maybe 15 deaths, mostly in the high risk groups, and...the national guard?!?! really?!?!

but OK. The gov't powers God lifted up for this season say "national guard!," so...national guard it is. :)

Arminism has nothing to do with this.

Its the verboten debate here

Huh?? And you're the one who brought it up not me and I was just stating a reminder if it ever did come to that people (at least in America) would be free to choose to defend themselves, their families, and their homes.

...the national guard?!?! really?!?!

They are going by what happened in other states and countries when they didn't act quickly to lock 19 down. It got out of control, and the emergency rooms didn't have enough rooms for all of the sick people.

20% of infected people need hospital help to get through 19. That's a lot of people if millions get infected at about the same time. Lockdown is a delaying action to buy time for standard outbreak protocol preparations. They need time to build a lot of tests, masks, medicine, ventilators, and such.

I said ,I,would break down his door and force him to leave the reformed theology and become arminist .

Lol.

It has noting to do with martial law, but only helping to set up hospital needs and encouraging people to stay inside out of public places. We just had our first case in our county here in NW PA making all the surrounding counties now having reported cases. We are all under precaution and only to leave our homes for jobs, grocery shopping or medical needs. If everyone would do this then the spread would slow down and eventually will die out.

Ours is on standby here in Hawai'i. I've seen the Guard called out several times. It's a fairly common occurance with all the hurricanes along the Gulf Coast. They act mainly as a humanitarian organization, but after Hurrican Celia, they acted as an extension of the police.
