All scripture is God-breathed. The words of the sixty-six books of the Bible were written by men of God moved by the Holy Spirit. The whole Bible is without error in the original manuscripts and therefore authoritative in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21).

God eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are the one God (Matthew 28:18-19, Deuteronomy 6:4).

Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, Mary. He is the true God and true man (Luke 1:30-35, John 1:18, Hebrews 4:15).

Man was originally created by God in His own image. Through sin man fell and lost his spiritual life becoming dead in his sin and subject to the power of Satan. Thus man is in need of salvation (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-24, Ephesians 2:1-2).

In response to man’s need, God the Father sent Jesus to this world to make atonement for sin. His substitutionary death on the cross and His bodily resurrection from the dead provide the basis for salvation. His atonement is sufficient for all, yet efficient only for those who believe (John 3:16-17, 1 Timothy 2:3-6, Mark 10:45).

Salvation for man comes only by grace through faith in Jesus and His provision on the cross. Since salvation is a gift from God a believer is secure forever (Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 11:29).

The Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the time of conversion. His baptism unites all believers to Christ in one body. He is the believer’s source of power for all acceptable worship and service (1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 5:18:20, Ephesians 4: 7-16).
It is God’s will for believers to live a holy life in cooperation with the indwelling Holy Spirit while putting to death the deeds of the flesh. God the Father does discipline His children when they sin (1 Thessalonians 4:3, Romans 8:13, Hebrews 12:4-11).

The primary purpose in the life of the believer is to glorify God in everything and to make Christ known to the unbelieving world until His return (Colossians 3:23-24, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, 1 Thess. 4:13-18).

I just had a wee look on a map to see where Faroe Islands. Wow - what a place.

I notice on a website, the following:

Religion plays an important part in Faroese culture and over 80% of the population belong to the established church, the EvangelicalLutheran. 10% of the population belong to the Christian Brethren (Plymouth Brethren).

Can you tell me if that means that 90% of the population there would adhere to the statement of faith that you posted?

Hi fellow New Zealander. :)

Yes thats true. about 90 % of the Faroe Islands would adhere to the statement of faith I posted :)

Faroe Islands is known for it's population of ''47.000'' people to be one of the country's with most believers in the world, when we look at its population density. :)

Olaf Tryggvason, king of Norway. He introduced Christianity thru a man named Sigmundur. He was a Norwegian which lived in the years 961-1005. Long time ago. :)

Thank you for your interest in the Faroe Islands. Not many people know it exist, so this is common. :)

God bless you and all the best. :)

Regards :)

Thankyou for that. Interesting stuff. Do you mean by fellow NZ'r that you are a New Zealander that has emigrated or . . . ?

my mistake

Hi :)

No sorry, my mistake. I'm not from New Zealand. I misspelled it a litle bit.
When I said fellow New Zealander I ment New Zealander friend. I sometimes mistake fellow for friend. Sorry :)

No I live in the Faroe Islands but am Danish :)

I have seen New Zealand on Tv and the Movie Lord Of The Rings which is filmed at New Zealand right?

I love that country. A true art of God.
Please let me know if you would like some more information, and I will see wath I can do :)

Thanks for the clarification Simon.

Yes, New Zealand is indeed a beautiful country. There is much variety - lakes, rivers, mountains, volcanoes, beautiful sandy beaches, rugged coastline and climate ranges from subtropical in the north to pretty cold in the south. Did you know we affectionately call New Zealand 'Godzone' or 'God's own'.

However, although many would see themselves as Christians because we are a 'christian' nation, in reality we are far from it.

God Bless you
Ed

Hi ED.

You are welcome :)

Your description of New Zealand is the way I tought it was. Beautifull and rich of nature :)

I am sorry to hear that you country is far away from being a Christian country.

I will remember New Zealand and you in my prayer.

I believe that God is looking at New Zealands nature and saying: I realy made alot out of this country. I hope he will say the same about the people in it which claim to be believers and are not. Hopefully it will chanhe for the better. I am happy to know you are a born again Christian.

For the sake of 1 Christian if you were to be the only one, God might bless your Country. Because you live in it.

Denmark is a country with wery few Christian people, but still he blesses it.
I believe this is for the few chosen ones.

How many believers do you think there is in your country?

Alltough the Faroe Islands are a Christian country like i mentioned before, it looks like it might get a back fall sooner than we know. The goverment in the Faroe Islands are not working on a Christian foundation except from one calling it self ''Midflokkurin'' Don't know if that name made any sence to you :)

It is the only group in the goverment which works on true Christian foundations. I hope they can withstand the fight for what is right.
