TEMPLE VESSELS: THE ARK OF THE COVENANT
Torah gives exacting instructions for the construction of the ark, its cover, and the two cherubim (Exodus 25:10-22). The Tablets of the Law which Moshe brought down from Mount Sinai were placed inside the ark, and the ark was housed inside the Holy of Holies. Only the kohen gadol would enter there, and only on the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur. Unlike the other sacred vessels created by the Temple Institute for use in the third Holy Temple, the Ark of the Covenant is a replica. The original ark, created in the desert, lies hidden in a chamber beneath the Temple Mount, and will be revealed with the building of the Holy Temple.

The Temple Institute continues to create the authentic vessels for use in the Third Temple, which are, in the meanwhile, on display at the Institute’s headquarters in Jerusalem. These vessels have already been seen by over one million visitors to Jerusalem. In addition to the creation of these vessels, the Temple Institute publishes unique educational materials and holds educational seminars, and its representatives teach all over the world. The Institute’s research staff investigates and prepares the scientific and technological aspects of the rebuilding of the Holy Temple, using cutting edge, state of the art methodology.

Why donate to something made by hand that God is never going to dwell in.

Acts 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? 50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Donating should be between the person and God. While there is nothing in the NT stating about a collection for any temple, it does say that one will be built in the end times. True, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, but the church are the firstfruits, those who will rule and reign with Christ... the feasts of the Lord depict a time in the next age of even a greater salvation, and yet a greater one after that. We are the chosen now to help with that. This is why there seems to be "predestination" vs "free choice" debates. Only God choses us. But the issue is when. Many are called, few are chosen. The rest of the called will be saved later. The chosen church is the subgroup of a more massive calling to salvation later.

Now the apostle Paul calls it the temple of God that the beast desecrates, so I take the bible at its word. While Christians don't need a temple, the Jews (until they see their Messiah) believe they do. It's a pragmatic thing, not what is necessarily theoretical on our part. So reasons why a temple is not needed argument does not hold for them, nor does it hold for prophecy that says it will come.

I make occasional contributions to the temple institute. In addition, I like to support the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. That's an agency both working together to help with aliyah and poor people in Israel. The same agency is also supporting persecuted Christians in Iraq subject to terrorism. Lastly, I support Jerusalem Prayer Team (Mike Evans) being a key player with similar ministries and also played a part in getting our embassy to Jerusalem Israel.

So do you a 3rd temple being built anytime soon?

Ya know, I'm not sure. The blueprints are there. The temple objects are there. The priests are being trained, so the atmosphere is that of urgency when they get the green light. Whatever happens will happen quickly I presume. Now that said, I'm not sure of the circumstances that will allow them to build. They have their minds set (tradition) that it's at the Dome of the Rock whereas evidence shows a more southern location. I don't believe in the "City of David" location, but there is convincing evidence that it could have been closer to the Al Aqsa Mosque on the mount. Regardless, I believe the Jews will be quick to settle that archaeologically as they believe that the Holy of Holies must be at the proper spot.
