Can somebody please explain to me more what this is and if anybody ever found it? I know that it has something to do with the Ten Commandments but it can't be the original because I think that Moses broke them if I remember it correctly. Has it ever actually been found?

The ark was to carry three things, the rod of Aaron, the two tablets of the 613 laws, the brazen serpent ,it was also where God met the high priest between the cherubim.

The ark is known as the Ark of the Testimony or the Ark of the Lord that contained a golden jar of manna, Aaron's rod that budded and the tablets of God's commandments. The Ark was very sacred to the Israelites during their time in the wilderness. Exodus 25:10-22 gives a clear description of what it looked like. The Ark of the covenant is a reminder of God's provision for the needs of the Israelites in the wilderness.

The Israelites believed that God lived among them in the tabernacle between the wings of the cherubim on the mercy seat. God spoke to Moses from this place during their years of wandering in the wilderness as they were being prepared to enter the Promised Land.

The ark was carried ahead of the Israelites when they left Mount Sinai when they crossed over the Jordan River to enter into Canaan and when they circled the walls of Jericho before that city fell. After many other travels it was finally placed in Solomon's temple in Jerusalem only to disappear after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians in 586 B.C.

The ark served as a visible reminder with the Hebrew people. The mercy seat, covered with gold, symbolized God's throne and His rule in the hearts of those who acknowledge Him as their sovereign Lord.

The ark of the covenant has never been found.

That jar of manna would probably be rotten and moldy by now.

Replacements were given:

One day the Lord said to Moses, “Cut two flat stones like the first ones I made, and I will write on them the same commandments that were on the two you broke. Exodus 34:1 CEV

Also, a complete copy of the Torah was kept inside.
The story of the craftsman who made the Ark is a unique and great story.

The story is that the guy's father was a goldsmith for the Egyptians...and when he refused to make the golden calf they killed him. So they got someone else.

This is the one time God said that He inspired someone. Bezalel and Oholiab...
Bezalel was the master and Oholiab was the apprentice.

You can read about them in Exodus 31

There is a really good article called, Why did God kill people who touched or looked into the Ark? you can find it at rationalchristianty.net It goes in greater detail with scripture about the Ark of the Covenant being the throne of God.

There are reports that the Ark was carried away to Ethiopia and resides in a small building under armed guard. No one is allowed inside and that it is to stay until until needed(Temple rebuilt). There is no way to confirm validity without bloodshed. It should probably just be regarded as hearsay/rumor/gossip at this point.

No one knows where the Ark of the covenant vanished to when the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem in 587BC. Everything is only rumors and stories.

Rev 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

From what I understand, it has been found by Ron Wyatt. It was hidden deep in the mountain near Jerusalem. It was said to have been positioned almost directly below the cross hole here Jesus was crucified. And then when Jesus gave up the ghost there was a big earthquake and the cracks formed in the mountain allowed for Jesus's blood to drip down through the cracks onto the Mercy Set of the Ark.

The Israelis sent 6 men into the tunnels to retrieve the ark and bring it out...and all 6 of them died. It's not being shown to the world yet because the time is not right yet to reveal it. There's videos about it on youtube.

What do you mean when Jesus gave up the ghost? Do you mean when He died? Also, where did the earthquake and other stuff happen in the Bible cause I must have missed it. :confused

It's in Matthew 27:

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.../

Okay sorry about that, I stand corrected. That still doesn't answer my question on what giving up the ghost means though. :/

Ron Wyatt died last year in Memphis TN of cancer... They are all fighting about his "artifacts". Some for ownership and others about authenticity and relevance to what he claimed that they proved.

Just about every reputable scholar disagrees with his findings.
He was a fanciful storyteller though.

The claims of the ark in Ethiopia is the most believable of all of them. There isn't just one. There are dozens of them there that are all very old. There is a Jewish community there and surrounding areas that all pay special homage to the ark.
The researchers believe that it is there but the custody chain is broken and there's no real proof of which one it is or if any of them are really the real one.

The Ark of the Covenant has been a source of speculation for thousands of years. Everyone has been hot for it especially since the world was ruled by the Church.

Many Jews believe that the Ark was buried on the Temple Mount in some secret cave dug out by the Levites. And that just before the Babylonians destroyed the Temple they shuttled the Ark into it and then filled the cave entrance up. All that knew of the tunnel then died without passing on the information.
Then during the Herodian period of rule the temple mount was enlarged with retaining walls and fill rock... further burying the chamber.
Ground penetrating radar has been inconclusive. Access is difficult too as the temple mount is Palestinian and not Israeli controlled.
