I believe all of us have been discussing saving faith all along, especially within all the scriptures we have been sharing as the whole discussion has been about saving faith.

I could not see myself participating in another thread about the same subject you have presented here especially when you seem to not want anyone to use scripture.

Scripture comes later! Can't have the cart in front of the horse. 33 years of scriptural study almost daily, at a Stanford University level of teaching. By a teacher who owned the largest collection of ancient biblical manuscripts in private hands behind the Vatican. He taught from this collection, among Bible's in every language for over 55 years.

You don't think I want to talk about the gold nuggets he and myself have mined out of God's word? I ache to talk about His word. But if we don't know precisely how to apply saving Faith to God Himself, not His word, God's word is not ours to talk about!

Every act, based upon a Belief, sustained by confidence (pisteuo) must have its own specific "object" of Faith.

We fulfill hundreds of acts, based upon a Belief, sustained by confidence every day, all with different objects of Faith.

So pisteuo as it's relates to the living God, (the Father, the caller) in this case. The object of Faith is the caller!

The surrendered life is to the caller, based upon a Belief that the caller will except the surrendered life, sustained by confidence in the hundreds of decisions make every day supporting the fact our lives are no longer ours anymore, but the callers now.

This does not answer my question. Back to my question. How does one believe in something they never heard of?

If you ache to talk about the word of God then why are you not sharing what God has already spoken like all of us have been doing instead of only relying on a Greek definition, or do you believe what is written in the Bible is not God's word? I'm sorry, but scriptures already explain what saving faith is and it's not that difficult to understand.

Again, all explained in post 137.

I answered your question in depth on post 137.

As per the Op!

In post #137 you started by saying: Every act, based upon a Belief, sustained by confidence (pisteuo) must have its own specific "object" of Faith.

My question was: how can someone believe in something they have never heard of.

Again I ask for the last time. How can one have saving faith in anything they never even heard of if no one has never mention even the name of the object to them. One can not believe in something they never heard of until they here it mentioned to them.

We're talking about the caller! I don't have good examples of how the Father calls each individual. I only know how He called me.

Are you saying you can't come up with a senario, where God the Father can make an impression, so a called out one could surrender to Him?

Knowing that faith is a noun, please explain to us how we apply saving faith to God Himself.

Thanks, JLB

The " object "of Faith would be the noun, a person, place, or thing. The application of Faith , the verb , is an act, based upon a Belief, sustained by confidence. Specific to the chosen object of Faith.

Pisteuo is the verb form.

"Pisteuo in relation to the living God, is a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender."

The initial act of Faith is a genuine surrender to Him.

Based upon the belief that He will accept the surrendered life.

Sustained by confident decisions that support the fact ours lives are not Ours anymore but His now.

This initial response to the caller just begins the salvation journey. If we have never started the surrendered life and live a life inspired by such surrender,we are still in the calling out phase, with God awaiting the first act of pisteuo.

Amen.

That would be the word believe, which means trust , and commit to obey.

Good word brother.

Faith is a noun.

It’s is the substance of things hoped for.

JLB

Right! Pistis in the Greek. Pisteuo is the corresponding verb to the noun Pistis.

The English language doesn't have a corresponding verb to the noun Faith like the Greek does for the noun Pistis.

Amen.

Believe means believe! Theirs no trust or commitment associated with believing. Believe, believer, and believing are mistranslations. The words the English language should have had for the translators are faithe, faither, and faithing.

The Greek language doesn't have a word in it's language for the English word" believe." They only acknowledge a state of being where one is faithing towards something or away from something. No neutral or middle ground such as believing.

There are many ways God calls us. Usually it is by someone you meet who lives a Godly life and their type of life challenges you. You read or hear something that creates a longing for something more (part of my own testimony). Maybe you are trying to live a good life, but yet fall short and feel empty at times. This is God calling you as He draws you like a magnet to saving faith.

God's calling doesn't just come out of nowhere, but by action to His drawing power that is hard to resist when it plays on our heart strings, but yet many ignore His calling as they refuse any action on God's part.

Could you give a strongs number for the word pisteuw?

I'm talking about the word pisteuo. 4100

Watchman,

I don't use Strong's numbers. Instead, I use the Greek Lexicons (Bauer, Arndt & Gingrich; Thayer) and the major Greek word studies (Bauer, Kittel & Friedrich; and Colin Brown (ed)).
