The Trinity can be considered one of the most significant doctrines of the Christian faith. While it has been often attacked by people who have held other beliefs, and it has been alleged that it is not a Biblical doctrine due to the fact that the word “Trinity” is not mentioned in The Bible, the doctrine, according to Christians is, at least in substance, Biblical.

At the outset we must state the study of The Trinity, because it discusses the nature of The One, true God, is holy ground and the doctrine itself can be known only by divine revelation. Human reason is incapable of fathoming it. It was God’s Will to reveal to humanity His inner working. According to mainstream Christianity, the doctrine, having been revealed to mankind through Scriptures, is far from being the result of human reasoning.

To define The Trinity according to the teachings found in The Bible, we have to first make it very clear that there is only One eternal God, Who is the Creator and Sustainer of...

One interesting aspect of the trinity is in there being three separet personalities in the trinity. They have fellowship with each other, loving and being loved.
For the triune God Love is something that is experienced and as a result can be given to others. It is not needed from us but it is something that God shares with us.
A monolithic God cannot experience this.

Trinity is the most deceiving of all deceptions.
Can you explain why? Just because the word Trinity, which means one God in three Divine Persons, is not found in the scriptures the description of it is.

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

I know what you mean, however...

One God is three persons is not the Trinity.

That is modalism or oneness.

That’s actually heresy.

The Trinity is just what the scripture you quoted says.

Three Divine Persons are One.

Not one God in three.

There is only one God who exist in three distinct persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as it's all God's spirit as the word made flesh (Jesus) and our comforter and teacher (Holy Spirit).

I have seen these words used in so many different context, that I had to go to the library and look in the big dictionary. To try to find out why these people are using it the way they are. It amazed me. The carnal language is dangerous because it is satans play ground. Satan can use the carnal mind, change a few words, exaggerate anything there. But the spiritual mind which is only verses, he has no power. He can only try with a piece of a verse, and this is why I tell everybody. If you ever get a piece of a verse, go look it up for verification. But he(satan) will not use a whole verse because that is glorifiing Christ. And satan is anti-christ. Now when I speak of verses I'm speaking of new testament verses, because we know that he(satan) quotes old testament verses. And yes the Holy Spirit quotes old testament verses to. But Christ is the new testament. Anyway check out these deffinitions from the big dictionary at the library.

deity 1 a: often cap : divine nature or rank: the essintial nature of a god or of a supreme being: DIVINITY

di-vin-i-ty 1:the quality or state of being divine: nature or essence of God: GODHEAD (the divinity of Jesus) a celestial being inferior to the supreme God but superior to man<one of the subservient divinities>

Now it doesnt say that Jesus is God, what it says is He is second in command, it says Jesus is inferior to the supreme God but over every other creature in heaven and on earth.

1. God is Spirit, John 4:24, not flesh and blood and in the OT either spoke directly to the prophets or by angels and also various objects like a burning bush or an ass for example. Between the OT and NT God was silent towards Israel as when they returned to Israel from the Babylonian captivity they came back as merchants and not shepards as they were disobedient to God going after other gods, Book of Malachi.

2. Jesus being the very Spirit of God before the foundation of the world as He and the Father are one was prophesied by the Prophets in the OT and spoken of by John the baptist in the NT as John being the forerunner of Christ calling all to repent. As foretold Christ did come as the word of God made flesh (skin, bone, blood) to be that light that shines in darkness. He came as redeemer Savior through Gods grace as Christ is our faith that all can repent of their sins and have eternal life with the Father to all who will believe in Him as Lord and Savior. John 1:1-4; 1 Peter 1:13-21

3. After the sacrifice of Christ God raised Him from the grave and as He had to ascend back up to heaven the promise was that He would never leave us or forsake us as when He ascended He sent down the Holy Spirit (Spirit of God) to indwell all who will believe in Christ and His finished works on the cross. In the OT Gods Spirit fell on them for a time and purpose under heaven. Now we are indwelled with that power and authority through Gods grace that the Holy Spirit now works in us and through us teaching all things God wants us to learn. All three are Spiritual and Spiritual awakings in us to know the will of God and walk in His statures. John 16:7-15

Ephesians 4: 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit as all three coequal Gods Spirit.

Jesus being the right arm of God. Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Jesus is the word of God. John 12: 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Jesus is word, light and life that is God come in the flesh. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Gods Holy Spirit come to indwell us and teach us. John 14: 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 John 5:7 is a pretty controversial verse. It's a KJV and NKJV verse not appearing in any Greek manuscript before the 16th century. I think many if not most serious theologians would suggest arguing the trinity from elsewhere.
I believe in the Trinity by the way.

In the same manner the Father is not the Son, the Son s not the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father, but they make One God.

How do you know that 1 John 5:7 doesn’t appear in any Greek manuscript before the 16th Century?

It’s a very serious thing to claim the KJV and NKJV are basically corrupt versions of the Bible.

You just proved how difficult it is to explain the Trinity.

It's NOT one God in 3 persons.
It's 3 persons in one God !

But I know what you meant.....
No matter how we explain it,,,we create some problem or other.

Very interesting.
The question is then:
Do the three speak to each other?

YES! They do.

The spirit speaks to the soul.
The soul speaks to the body.

Does the body speak to the spirit or soul?
Don't know...maybe when it's in pain?

There is only one God who exist in three distinct persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as it's all God's spirit as the word made flesh (Jesus) and our comforter and teacher (Holy Spirit).
The above is not for me...but

What you're saying is this:

There are 3 persons:
Mary
Jane
Susan

and One God lives in them...so you've just made 3 Gods.

It's like this:
There is ONE GOD...
INSIDE that One God...there are 3 persons
Mary
Jane
Susan

Now there is only ONE GOD.

I got my deffinitions from websters new world dictionary copyright 1993

Col 2-9
I think your totally missing what that one verse was saying. It was talking about the fullness of God working through Jesus. Has nothing to do with the deity of Jesus.

Col 2:8-9
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

2 Cor 5:19
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Stricked Rules Of Believing
Trinity is NOT in the Word of God. Deity is NOT in the Word of God. God the Son is NOT in the Word of God. God the Holy Spirit is NOT in the Word of God. What is in the Word of God is. Dont think beyond what is written, Dont add one thing to it or take one thing away from it.

1 Cor 4:6
6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.
(NKJ)

Rev 22:18-19
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
(NKJ)

John 12:48-50
48 "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him-- the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
49 "For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.
50 "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak."

(NKJ)

Rev 20:2

Did you just say that Jesus is secondary to God Father?
And so is the Holy Spirit 3rd in line?
