This has me confused.
YHWH is God Father from the O.T. Hebrew.
But I also have read it explained that it means
the Lord is salvation.

But Lord = messiah, Jesus
LORD = YHWH, God Father

YHWH is the name of the Lord.

The name of the Lord is Jesus.

The revelation of the New Testament is Jesus Christ is Lord; YHWH

Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 1 Peter 1:10-11

  • the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ

Whenever we see an Old Testament prophet say... “Thus says the Lord” we understand it was Christ speaking through them.

Example:

The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel. Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him:..“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. Zechariah 12:1,10

  • then they will look on Me whom they pierced.

The book of Hebrews confirms this, as it says -

But to the Son He says:
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
And:
You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
Hebrews 1:8-10

Notice this is what is said in Zechariah 12:1 -

Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth,

The Spirit of Christ, is the Spirit of the Lord, YHWH, who spoke through the Old Testament prophets.

Here is another example of the Old Testament, referring to the Lord Jesus as YHWH.

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then the Lord will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.
Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Thus the Lord my God will come,
And all the saints with You.
Zechariah 14:1-5

Key Verses:

  • Behold, the day of the Lord (YHWH) is coming,

  • Thus the Lord (YHWH) my God will come, and all the saints with You.

This is a reference to Christ Jesus our Lord coming with the saints, as God the Father does not come with the saints at the end of the age, on the Day of the Lord (YHWH).

Jude speaks of this -

Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” Jude 14-15

Behold, the Lord (YHWH) comes with ten thousands of His saints,

Jesus Christ is YHWH, the Lord God.

YHWH, the Lord God, appeared to Abraham and made covenant with Him. This was the Lord Jesus who later would before flesh.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Genesis 17:1-2

  • Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
  • Then they took up stones to throw at Him;

They picked up stones to stone Him to death for claiming He is YHWH, the Lord God.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. John 8:56-58

It seemed as if you were saying we are to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

JLB

It is what I am saying. Per the directive of Jesus to the disciples in Matthew 28:19 we are not just baptized in the name of Jesus alone, but through the full Godhead that is Father, Son and Holy Ghost as Jesus is the fulness of the Godhead bodily, Ephesians 3:19; Colossians 2:9.

Seven names of God as in Father, Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit being the full Godhead - Deity
1. YHWH-Yireh - Yahweh will provide - Genesis 22:13, 14
2. YHWH-Rapha - Yahweh that healeth - Exodus 15:26
3. YHWH-Nissi - Yahweh our banner - Exodus 17:8-15
4. YHWH-Shalom - Yahweh our peace - Judges 6:24
5. YHWH-Ra-ah - Yahweh is the way, my shepard - Psalms 23:1
6. YHWH-Tsidkenu - Yahweh our righteousness - Jeremiah 23:6
7. YHWH- Shammah - Yahweh is the light - Ezekiel 48:35, John 1:1-4

I don’t see where baptism in water is done any other way, but in Jesus name.

Apparently Jesus name carries the authority and fulfills the requirement to baptize in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.

IOW, when we baptize in Jesus name, we are baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, as well as the Holy Spirit.

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38

For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 8:16

Then Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
Acts 10:47-48

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Acts 19:5-6

How do you know the seven names of God are supported by John 1:1-4?

Hi EZ,
OK that's what I understood.
We are all born of water and blood (of Jesus --- we who are born again).

Then God Father and God Son and God Holy Spirit agree with this water and blood and that makes two that unite.

Very nice. I've never heard it described that way.
The water and blood is from here
The three are from heaven. = two units.

Food for thought....
You are born of water and blood both physically yourself, and through Jesus. You are born again, ei Born of the Spirit by the Father, not by the son; else you might be considered a grandson of God as opposed being called a Son of God.

As a Son of God, if I should say to you: if you have seen me you have seen the Father, should you then call me God the Son?

Some worship the Son as God, and know not the Father. Some worship the Father, and know not the Son. But when the witness comes full circle and heaven and earth agree, then both the Father and the Son will take abode, and you three shall become one flesh.

You are born of water and blood both physically yourself,

Only Jesus was born of both water and blood.

This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 1 John 5:6

I agree with this as I have been saying this all along, but you must not of understood how I've been explaining it. It's the full Godhead.

FHG,

Where is the NT Greek 'Yahweh' found in these verses?

Oz

Go back to post #84 and post #127 as YHWH is the original Hebrew alphabet spelling and Yahweh is the Greek spelling.

Yahweh and Lord is also given to the name of Jesus who is the light and the life of God within Jesus to the world as these scriptures show Yahweh/light/life that is Jesus who is a part of the full Godhead.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I've always worshiped the Father and the Son and I don't pray to the Holy Spirit,,,but maybe we should?
I thought everyone knew this...it makes me wonder if I really understood you....

I think , :idea
When you say in Jesus's name, it signify all 3.
When we pray, we ask in Jesus's name, signifying we believe that God became flesh, died for our sins, resurrected the 3rd day, which gives you authority.
We pray to The Father, in Jesus's name,
We are a believer! John 3:16

Same person, but different offices.
Yahshua, Yah=God, shua= salvation, God's salvation.
Example:

Yah is Jehovah in a special sense and relation.
Jehovah as having become our salvation,Ex.15:2,
He Who Is, and Was, and is to come.

EL, The Almighty
is Elohim in all His strength and power,
EL is God The Omnipotent.
Elohim isGod the Creator putting His omnipotence into operation.

Adon is one of three titles, Adon, Adonai, Adonim,

Adon is the LORD as Ruler in the earth.
Adonai is the LORD in His relation to the earth

Adonim is the plural of Adon, but in greater and higher degree.

Same God but in different offices, roles.

Diane,

Do you not believe in the Trinitarian God where God is one in essence/nature and three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I note you didn't include one Scripture to support your positions.

Jehovah is not a name of God.

Lease do some research on this name, especially what the Jewish people have to say about it.

The name for the Lord in the OT is YHWH.

Yahshua, Yah=God, shua= salvation, God's salvation.

Since you seem to understand compound words, here is one for Jehovah.

No “J” in Hebrew.

Je or Yah = Lord

hovah - Strongs 1943 -
