I believe our Heavenly Father has showed us, through the Holy Bible, that we are the last generation of mankind, however, there are good reasons, Divine reasons, why He did not tell us exactly when this flesh age should end.

And He said unto them, "It is not for you to know the time or the seasons, which the Father has put in His own power." Acts 1.7

What if our Father had included in the Holy Bible an identifying scripture, such as: "For your information, Jesus Christ will return to earth on January 1, 2100, and the world will end." Sounds silly, right? Well, that is silly, but what if we were children living in the year 2099? It would not seem so silly then, and in fact, much of the world would be having a panic attack! Conversely, what if we were children who had lived in 1800? We would have no reason to watch, or to prepare ourselves for the end, knowing by scripture the world was not to end for another 300 years. Divine resoning dictates that in naming dates, FAITH is taken out of the equation, and FAITH is what this flesh age is all about. Nevertheless, as mentioned, our Father does have an exact appointed time for this flesh age to end, but Divine reasoning says it must come as a surprise to humanity.

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, 'Peace and safety;' then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: We are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1 Thessalonians 5.1

Now let us say for arguments sake that everyone on this forum are children of light, for obviously, we love the LORD, His Son, and Their Holy Word. That leaves what, about 5 billion people who will be surprised? Let us pray to have their eyes opened, and plant seeds whenever we can, for I do believe the final tribulations are not far off.

I believe our Heavenly Father has showed us, through the Holy Bible, that we are the last generation of mankind...
And yet, you said NOTHING in this post to back up that remark.

...for I do believe the final tribulations are not far off.
Again, believe what ever you wish to.
But know that you are the 'ump-teenth' forecaster to come along and be proven wrong.

there are somewhere about 5-6 millennia from the seventh day to the end, according to the written:

Revelation 17:10 "there are seven kings(i.e. seven times): five are fallen(i.e. counted from the seventh day onwards 5 millennia will pass), and one is(i.e. and the end of God's somnolence will occur in the 6th millennium), and the other is not yet come(i.e. and the time during which the "darkness" will continue to reign (before God to wake fully up) in the sixth millennium will occur at last); and when he cometh, he must continue a short space(i.e. but it will continue a very short time)."

Blessings

i thought it was talking about Rome, the Emperors and Nero in particular, who held himself to be god and worshipped, and how he killed the Jews and Christians; isn't his number 666?

Every generation believes it is the last one. I've been hearing this stuff since I first became a Christian in 1977, and I have found references to those who have proclaimed "the end is near" dating all the way back to 1,000 AD and even in the first century.

And, after telling us the way it is going to be, after a full day, watchman333 is still silent...

All we need to know is this: We each must be prepared in the event that our own personal time on earth concludes on this particular day. To live each day as if it is our last means we don't squander it...that we don't procrastinate about sharing the blessed Word of our Lord with those around us.

I don't worry about the end of the world, or about the rapture. I am thankful and give thanks daily that I awake to see another day. And at the conclusion of each day, I am thankful and give thanks that I've be given the day. My focus daily is towards perfecting my walk with our Lord so on the last day, I will not be found wanting, nor be found as 'unknown'. My focus also includes sharing the Word, and allowing our Lord's amazing love to shine through my example to those who do not know Him personally.

On a lighter note, the only "The End is Near" sign I'm ever concerned about is this: That the bridge, up ahead on the roadway upon which I travel, is out.

Hi Pizzaguy. Air Dancer is correct, we should always be prepared for the end to come. I did not know I was compelled to answer. Basically, I wanted to hear what folks like you had to say, but since you insist...Here are 2 reasons why I think the end is upon us. I believe the parable of the fig tree, the parable our Lord Jesus Christ warned us to WATCH for, was completed in 1948. I believe that began the final generation. Can you follow that the 2 baskets of figs in Jeremiah 24 have been set before the temple at Jerusalem? Which is to say, figs being food, not people, that the Palestinians and the Israelis are the parable's participants. Reason #2 is that THIS generation is exactly 6 days, 6,000 years, out from Adam. I believe there are only 7 days allowed for this flesh age and the 7th day is the millennial day, which will begin immediately following the 2 tribulations this generation has to endure. Would you believe me if I told you the Holy Spirit has shown me a dozen other Biblical studies identifying this generation as the last? I did'nt think so, but I do appreciate your input. I just hate arguing.

Hi, Watchman:

No argument was in the offering with my post. Just a truth for me. I have not received any specific insights as to the approximate date for the end of time; therefore, I can only greet each day as if it was my last.

The gifts we each receive vary according to our Lord God's plan. We each have differing tasks to fulfill, with specially considered gifts so we can achieve those tasks. (Because of these differing gifts, we as Christian are meant to gather together in pray & to share our knowledge, and to lift each other up....amongst other reasons.)

I no longer think about the end, or His coming. It is nothing more than an arguing point, IMO.

64 years have passed, if you are right, time is REALLY running out.

Can you follow that the 2 baskets of figs in Jeremiah 24 have been set before the temple at Jerusalem? Which is to say, figs being food, not people, that the Palestinians and the Israelis are the parable's participants.
No, I can't follow that at all.

Reason #2 is that THIS generation is exactly 6 days, 6,000 years, out from Adam.
You have no way of knowing when Adam lived.

I believe there are only 7 days allowed for this flesh age and the 7th day is the millennial day, which will begin immediately following the 2 tribulations this generation has to endure.
Obviously, by "7 days" you are speaking cryptically.

Would you believe me if I told you the Holy Spirit has shown me a dozen other Biblical studies identifying this generation as the last?
I won't call into question what the Holy Spirit has shown you, or what you believe such to be.

I just hate arguing.
As do I, that is the reason for my avatar and why I don't post here much any more.

The way I see it, you base this on the idea that Adam lived 6,000 years ago.
Again, I see no way you can know that.

I was hoping 12/21/12 was the start of the tribulation! Then again I thought, no one can predict when it will happen, for only the father knows when.

I am with Air Dancer on this. I believe one is wasting time focusing on the "when." He IS coming and the end of what we see and experience is coming along with Him; Praise God!!! We need to focus on the task at hand which God has prepared for each one of us.

Yes, as stated, I believe we should always be ready for the end. We need to thank our Heavenly Father for giving us His Son so that, on our repentance, our sins may be forgiven. Notwithstanding the obvious benefits of being a Christian, here is why studying the end times is so important. If my understanding is correct, the 1st tribulation is near, and we must survive it to get into the millennial day. By the way, I get my dates out of my Bible. I guess it's an older one that used to show dates. It has Adam being created in 4004 B.C. The 1st tribulation will be the appearance of the anti-christ and it will be all about deception. As it is written, Satan will be standing in Jerusalem, performing miracles, and with a melodious voice and imposing stature be calling everyone to him. His fallen angels will be with him, spread around the world and directing all traffic to Jerusalem. He will be coming in peace and safety, and having cured the deadly wound of the one world political system, will be a hero to all of mankind. It is very important that Christians, like us on this forum, recognize him for who he is, for if we worship him, bow our knee to him and recieve his mark, our eternal souls will be in final jeapordy. That is the reason why end time studies are so important, 5 billion plus souls will be deceived. I'm sorry, got to go, one of my sons just surprised me with a visit. I'll get back to you on the 2nd tribulation.

show us the dates backed up by scripture

Joe 1:15 Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Amo 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
Amo 5:19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
Amo 5:20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

You sure you want this? Be careful what you wish for.

Actually, I have hoped that I would live my life out and be safely asleep awaiting the resurrection when the GT and DotL come.

john8, I am sorry you believe whatever you do. It sounds terrible. I believe that I will be raptrured into GLORY along with all Christians dead and alive even before the tribulation. We shall see.:)

We agree on that, "we shall see". The resurrection is at the last trumpet which is at the return of Christ, not at the beginning of the Trib.

Thank you for your patience, where were we? Yes, Satan is standing in Jerusalem pretending to be Jesus Christ and only those of us who are sealed with God's truth will recognize him for who he really is. After all, he will be the first supernatural being this world has ever seen and he will seduce all, small and great, rich and poor, bond and free, to recieve his mark. As Edward R. Morrow used to say to end his show, "Goodbye and good luck." Now it gets really nasty for this generation as the 2nd tribulation, the vengeance of the LORD, begins.

Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the ALMIGHTY. Isaiah 13.6

The earth shall be utterly burned with fire, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. And let's not forget the earthquakes, for there shall be a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth. There shall also be a great hail out of heaven, and the locust army will be loosed upon mankind. No one will be saying, "Have a nice day!" And those are just some of the hightlights, it will be much worse for those who follow after the beast. And their real misery begins after this flesh age. Now, isn't it good to be a Christian! We escape all this because GOD is not mad at us! But most of us are in serious trouble, for just as Lord Jesus told us, we are a faithless and perverse generation.

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth {faithless} but had pleasure in unrighteousness {perverse}! 11 Thessalonians 2.12

That is the 2nd tribulation and this generation needs that knowledge, for as it is written, My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Eh... More or less. If the rapture comes first, yes. If not, no.

Actually, the resurrection comes first.

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

And the dead in Christ will rise first.
