For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.



We have all experienced so many times in our lives when we are not servants toward others.  We all struggle with the battle of being self-centered and only focusing on what we want in life.  As I live my life from day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year, I am saddened not only by watching how others get sucked in to a self-absorbed life, but I find myself also being sucked in to becoming so self-centered so much of the time.



I think about how there are needs all around us each and every day, no matter where we go and how so many people are not coming to know the love...

Jesus focused His time on building relationships with others and building a family with a group of men whom He devoted so much time to teaching. Jesus really cared about serving and He gave some great examples of what it means to be a true servant.

This quote really spoke to me. We try very hard here to promote an environment where we build one another up iin unity instead of tearing others down in division. It's all about being a servant.

Of course I agree that we should aspire to a life of service. The best leaders have a mindset of serving the people. But we should make it clear that leaders aren't there to please people either. Sometimes people expect their leaders to make tough decisions that aren't popular.
And whilst we have an attitude of service, I think we do need to lighten up too sometimes. Enjoy the moment. Don't take the job too seriously. Try to enjoy it if possible.
