a former orphanage ,home and doctors office ,in it ,it has a book .a thick one with photos and plaques that recall its owner jacoby and his park nearby .

awesome. i like your pictures and the bits of Florida history you share. I know this sounds strange, but...I never thought of Florida as having much an history, you know? I was down in south florida, last year for vacation, and...its so built up, the roads are new(ish) , the many many many subdivisions and big box stores and...

the beaches are awesome, no doubt, it just seemed like a place that popped up maybe 20 years ago, max, not a place that...has a meaningful history, beneath and beyond the new developments.

now...some of Florida seems far less built up, and amazingly -awesome- , such as...I think it was literally called "the cracker highway," or something equally hilarious. good times.

depending where you go and how far south ,it can be very old or recent ,the closer to Georgia ,its probably civil war ,pre civil war .with the exceptions of Turnbull and st.Augustine ,Turnbull is a pre 1800 plantation that was a land grant by the crown .orc ,its a park now with the relics ,not far from me and I might visit it ,oranges ,the earliest do come from it
