This the official "What-I've-Been-Up-To" thread - for Teens.

I've started this thread so that if you've been up to anything lately and feel up to sharing, just post it here. I know we've got the Prayer Requests forums etc, but if you would prefer sharing in the Teens section, then feel free to do so and share prayer requests etc.

It's more a Teen specific thread for Teen issues etc.

So it's kind of like a facebook status or twitter, but not really.

:)

Hmmm what have I've been up to.......................

Well, I love fishing and hunting. I live pretty much on the border of Alabama, its like an hour drive down to the beach in Panama where I can do some seriose fishing ;)
Its freezing at the beach, but the fish dont seem to mind. I usually catch King mackeral and occasionally sailfish, but in the winter all there is to catch is bonita.

I went hunting about a week ago, shot a buck. It was about a 150yard shot, 300 winmag, the bullet glazed the heart and went right through the liver and out the stomach, a decent shot.

School is alright. My grades are satisfactory. Social status is cool. Im on the football team and its going good, except the workouts are miserable. I havent had a girlfriend in like three weeks I think, I asked out this one girl a couple days ago but its just such a long and confusing story I dont even want to begin on it.

I constantly listen to my music

I also think I am turning a little emo or goth or something, I am not sure.

So yeah its all good. :approve

Thanks for sharing, 7ruth. :)

I guess a little emo or goth isn't too bad, but don't let that take over your life.

You haven't had a girlfriend in three weeks? That's nothing to be ashamed of! I have never had a girlfriend! I understand that if you lose something you had it's hard to go back to what it was like before, when you lived in ignorance - I guess ignorance is bliss in some cases. Just remember that God wants us to be with one another, He is all about relationships, but He also likes if you're single, as this levaes more room for God. This reminds me of a passage in 2 Corinthians, I think. I'll try and find it for you.

Sounds like you've got some good hobbies going, so keep that up!

:salute

Hmmm weightlifting just started, we just maxed out today for the first time.

Bench=125
Squat=175
Power cleans=145

Pretty decent, definently not the best though, but not the worst either.

Im going to keep on recording it here, see how fast I go.

I would find that recording it here would motivate me...that's part of the reason I do my "Verse of the day" thread. Go for it! :)

Well I went up about ten pounds in everything,
And i have a girlfriend now that I have been obsessed with :crazy

So yeah its all good :approve

Well, let's head on into my life, shall we:

Hmmm, updates..

• Well, my girlfriend Ashleigh and I have been going out for nearly six months now xD. She's a real keeper, the only thing about her that really bothers me is her attitude when it comes to Christianity. It's not exactly a top priority for her. Then again, it's like that with practically all of the kids at my school, though.

• I'm moving on March 1st so I can get out of this horrid Ghetto (no exaggeration, I live in a bad place, guys. Gang violence has become such a problem here, my family is lucky to not be targeted. We're just lucky that my brother and I made friends with the right people..)
Also, with the move I'll be closer to my GF, and I'll be able to go to the same high school as all of my friends :)

• I'm on a quest to develop a closer relationship with Christ. Sin and doubt are major enemies when it comes to this task, but I press on.
The whole doubt thing though, it's actually an okay tool. I doubt something, so I pray and do research (doubt as in God's existence, by the way) and then I find an answer. It helps me kind of get into the shoes of an Agnostic, and makes it easier to witness to them.

[Well, this was a relatively short update, considering how busy life is lol. I'm just half asleep right now is all, and once this thread gets going, it'll be easier]

I feel like I am being way too formal sometimes xD
One of my little kinks (perks?).

Anywho,
God bless,
Jeff.

Jeff, thanks for sharing :).

I'm glad to hear you'll be moving to a better place. Praise God that you've been kept safe so far! :)

Your girlfriend, is she a Christian? (I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this).
Just so you know, I have a friend who is a Christian and had this non-Christian girlfriend. Well it was getting real serious, and they'd been going out for quite a while. She was great, and really respected his religious views, but of course she didn't actually share them. He was going through a tough time, and she was really helping him get through this. He was greatful, but his consciousness told him that something was wrong, something was missing. At youth group there were a series of talks both on relationships and being a Christian man. Soon after that, he called off the relationship so he could focus on God more.
This reminds me of what the bile (and I think more specifically Paul) tells us about avoiding close relationships (bf/gf and marraige) with unbelievers. I'm not trying to bash you or to say you should break up with her, but just keep it in mind, and that in this kind of relationship where even if both are Christian and one or both don't have God and the centre of their lives, the relationship always seems empty.

Thanks for your reply, Nick. :)
And, to answer your question: yes, my girlfriend is a Christian. She is a really "lazy" Christian, however. I think that she just lost her way. And, I am trying to lead her back to Christ, but it's a slow process.

She is trying, though. I got her a Bible for Christmas, and we have been reading it together, as a couple.

I am going to try to just lead by example, and, hopefully, she'll come back.

That sounds like a good approach. Be a living example of Christ in your actions - they often speak louder than words. Read the Bible with her, pray with her, pray for her....In God's time, hopefully she will make Him at the centre of her life.

Lolz this looks pretty sad now.

You know how it says I did 175 for my max? Well, when you do your max, you only have to lift it once. Now though 175 is my rep wieght, meaning I am now doing that wieght with 3 sets of 6 reps! So I used to only be able to do it once, barely. But now, I do have to do it with 3 sets of 6 reps!

And, hopefully, I'll be directly followed by Christ, lol. :eyebrow
