The Teachers Of The Law and the Pharisees saw the miracles Jesus performed.
They had all the proof {evidence} they needed that He was worthy of their faith,
and still they did not believe in Him.

No better illustration of this can be found than in John chapters 11 and 12 where
the death of Lazarus occurred and where the Lord Jesus raised him from the dead.
There were many people there and they saw Lazarus who had been dead for 4 days
raised from the dead by the Lord Jesus. The Teachers Of The Law and the Pharisees
knew this, and fully understood this -- and they decided to "do something about it."

Lazarus-now-alive was the Logical, Empirical, Rational Evidence for the truth of
Christianity.

So?

So what did the Teachers Of The Law and the Pharisees decide to do when faced with
that type of strong solid irrefutable Logical, Rational, Empirical evidence?

Answer:
That plotted first to kill the Lord Jesus who had provided the Lazarus-now-alive
strong solid Logical, Rational, Empirical evidence. John 11:53

Next they plotted to kill the evidence itself which was Lazarus-very-much-alive who
had been dead for 4 days. John 12:10

`

Matthew 23:1- 39 Jesus first characterizes the Pharisees and then condemns them. This would have really made them angry against Jesus as they wanted to do away with him. Pharisees and Scribes were looking for a Priestly King to literally take the throne in the Temple in Jerusalem and rejected the true Messiah sent to them as they only saw Jesus as a Nazirite, a son of Mary and Joseph. They called Jesus a blasphemer for what He taught and a wind bibbler because He sat with the common people.

{ I re-worked this piece and thought I would post it. }

The Pharisees Tried To Destroy The Evidence , Literally.

The takeaway point of this post is that the Lord Jesus presented
compelling evidence to His enemies, the Pharisees and Teachers
Of The Law, and they responded by trying to literally KILL the
evidence.

__________

"I would believe in God if I had sufficient evidence" say many
unbelievers these days on the Internet.

"Give me convincing evidence and I will then believe in Christianity"
say many unbelievers on Internet Forums.

There is constant talk on the Internet about "give me convincing evidence."

Below is a clear example of some people that had clear compelling
sufficient empirical evidence that rose to the certainty-level of
2 + 2 = 4 --- and what did they do with this evidence?

Answer: they tried to KILL the evidence, literally.

Read on . . .

The Teachers Of The Law and the Pharisees saw the miracles Jesus performed.

They had all the proof {evidence} they needed that He was worthy of their
faith, and still they did not believe in Him.

John chapters 11 and 12 tells the story about the death of Lazarus and about
the Lord Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead.

There were many people there and they saw Lazarus, who had been dead for
4 days, raised from the dead by the Lord Jesus.

The Teachers Of The Law and the Pharisees knew this, and fully understood
this -- and they decided to "do something about it."

Lazarus-now-alive WAS HIMSELF the Logical, Empirical, Rational Evidence
for the truth of Christianity.

So?

So what did the Teachers Of The Law and the Pharisees decide to do when
faced with that type of strong solid irrefutable Logical, Rational, Empirical
evidence?

Answer:

That plotted first to kill the Lord Jesus who had provided the compelling
evidence.

LAZARUS-NOW-ALIVE , , , WAS , , , the strong solid Logical, Rational,
Empirical evidence.

"So from that day on they plotted to take his life." John 11:53

Next they plotted to kill the evidence itself which was
Lazarus-very-much-alive who had been dead for 4 days.

Lazarus WAS THE EVIDENCE , , , , THE LIVING EVIDENCE.

"So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well." John 12:10

So?

So now you know why Jesus' enemies, the Pharisees and Teachers Of
The Law, were evil people.

They were murderers.

Murderers who tried to KILL the evidence and get rid of it.

`

Next they plotted to kill the evidence itself which was Lazarus-very-much-alive who
had been dead for 4 days. John 12:10
Everything was the evidence, they tried to get rid of all evidence in every context, trying to disapprove Jesus authority and tried to cover his death and Resurrection with lies. They tried to let him be seen a heretic and a rebel, etc. Its crazy how hardhearted the pharisees are.
