The Whole World, the key

Genesis 10 tells us who the nation's are. There are 70 nations descended from Noah' s sons. These nations make up the whole world. During the time of Paul, the 70 nations were represented in the Roman and Parthian empires. These nations all had people who heard the Gospel. That makes sense when one believes that the whole world heard the Gospel in the first century. What do you think?

Acts 2:5 "There were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven." Were Jews in the western worlds at this time?

The following witness continues today as instruction given the apostles in Mark 16:15. ". . Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Everyone)."

Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." This takes the witness right up to the end of the millennium. Is the end come? I reckon it depends on who you ask.

Revelation 5:9 "Thou . . hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation." This is a future time of the Lord's Day.

Were Jews in the western worlds at this time?

Sure, absolutely. They had migrated all over the western world, that's what the Septuagint (LXX) was about. The "Jews" were loosing the language and heritage in the west, so the Alexandrian Jews translated the Hebrew scriptures into Greek. There are some interesting developments that happened over time, the eastern Jews who came back to Israel from Babylon were trying to keep their language, religion and culture. The western Jews were trying to assimilate into the Roman culture. The two were butting heads most of the time thinking that their own approach was the better one.

An interesting story, don't know how true it is, that is told about Jesus' early years. It is said that He went to these lost sheep in the western world and revealed Himself to them. There is a legend, for instance, among Jews in Spain who tell this story of the Messiah coming to visit them and call them into His kingdom. There may be some truth to some of these myths and legends, although they have nothing to do with the Gospel message and the Kingdom of Messiah. They are nothing more than interesting stories.

Aahh! Got cha'. There is some evidence that the Jews made it to the Western Hemisphere long before Columbus, and even before Messiah was born. Even during the time of the Babylonian exile. There are both archaeological and historical records that indicate this. There is a museum in Lansing, MI that has some artifacts that indicate this also. It seems as though the Jews were influential with the Parthian navy that set sail and traveled the world. Scripture mentions that some of the early sailing events would last up to three years. There has also been indication that Jews had contact with North American Indians, and have carved the Ten Commandments in stone dating back several millennium. I'll recommend a fascinating book if you care to read it.
