I used to have real problems waking up in the morning as a teenager and young adult in my 20's. I woke up in the shower when the hot water ran out many times. Sometimes on my motorcycle on the way to work. Often not at all till way too late. It was very embarrassing.
But for whatever reason when my grandfather would quietly say that it was time to go fishing (when I'd sleep over at their house) I could jump out of bed wide awake with tons of energy completely awake.
These days I get up early regularly. I haven't missed a sunrise in decades.
