How can we decipher what is Spiritual or literal when we are studying the Bible? Doesn’t everyone have their own opinions when it comes to studying and can we trust those opinions? Can Gods word be Spiritual and literal at the same time? Only the Holy Spirit can answer these questions when we ask for wisdom and understanding because God is not the author of confusion and wants to reveal all the hidden mysteries of his word to us.

God is Spirit and much of his written word is also Spiritual as much as it is literal. Like man is human in the flesh, but Spiritual through the rebirth or renewal in Gods Holy Spirit. I believe the Bible is more Spiritual than literal in many ways as when we read a chapter at a time we can have many different points of views on it. When we take each chapter and read it verse by verse then as a whole it brings life to the whole chapter and reveals the importance of the knowledge God wants us to learn and share with others.

Jesus told us in Matthew 24:11 that many false prophets will arise and deceive many. We can see this more and more in our own present time then ever before and when you know truth taught by the Holy Spirit and not just take Gods word for granted by what others teach you then it is your responsibility to come against that which is a deceiving word being taught by those who teach with a carnal mind of rationalizing the word of God. This only produces ones own opinion or interpretation that can cause devastation in another’s understanding as truth is left by the wayside as the Holy Spirit is quenched and true wisdom and knowledge is never reached.

Each one of us will stand before the Lord Christ Jesus to give account for what we have taught others here on this earth and some will hear Jesus tell them well done and others will hear Jesus say I never knew you. Which do you want to hear? Be careful for what you hear and speak to others for your eternity depends on it.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

2 Peter 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not and their damnation slumbereth not.

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

We must know God. I think of it this way. When I was a child and got into a tussle with one of my brothers, I'm sure that on more than one occasion I used the phrase, "I'm going to kill you!" What is the likelihood that my brother took that statement literally? Nil, nada, no way. Why? Because he knew me well enough to understand that I wouldn't actually carry out that threat to fruition.

Yes, we must know God and His will that benefits all who will come to Him. The only way to do that is having a personal relationship and fellowship with Him. We learn of His attributes as we pray, study the scriptures and talk to Him throughout the day.

To quote a line from Harry Potter series (and to get HeIsRisen2018 's excitement level up) :
"The Muggles know"...and they want to be a part of us. But they aren't us. They know of God but have no fear of God. I know God on a personal level...I am one of His kids...I am loved by Him so very much and prized by him.

But I also have a very healthy fear of God as well concerning certain things. I don't presume to know what God has in store for any one specific person...or what He wants specifically for me to do ten years from now. (Other than what I am already doing...which is just me being me)

But Muggles try to impress everyone with their spirituality, their rules, and their ordinances.

Where the rest of us know that our righteousness and salvation comes from Jesus...not from ourselves so that no one can boast putting themselves over another's righteousness.

The Muggles know...but at the end of the day they are still Muggles.

You're taking a major risk by bringing up HP in the Bible Study forum and now you leave me absolutely no choice... (If you can do it I can break the rules just this one time. :biggrin2)

PS. Just so the rest of you know a muggle (or a nomaj in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series) is a nonmagic folk.

Many are a part of us, but only in carnal knowledge. It's those who have had their Spiritual eyes and ears opened that truly fear (respect) God as they have that personal relationship with Him and know His voice.

John 14:15
English Standard Version
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments

John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

John 13:35
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

False prophets are known by their lack of fruit...

Not sure if this is a response to the thread or the video I posted above,.. but if it's the latter I was just joking around and John knows that. :wink In all seriousness that is all correct. :biggrin2

Those who are not Christ own only bear rotten fruit and will cause others to produce the same rotten fruit when they are deceived by their own imaginations.

Ha, I can't watch videos at work. It was kinda directed at John mughles and FHG false prophet statements.

Oh alright well for the record it was a video of Hermione Granger saying that it was a bit exciting breaking the rules because he brought up that whole entire Harry Potter thing. :lol
