I'd like to share a personal rejoicing with you. I know it's "just obedience" for all of us, but a huge victory for me in that, after praying about it I finally got myself together, and got dressed and went out special to invite a particular lady (and potentially her 5 kids, not sure about hubby)... to our neighborhood's church for a pot luck breakfast tomorrow. Met her when no one else was showing up for the Christmas Day Brunch my family was hosting/cooking for, and we'd forgotten something, so my hubby found her walking her dog, and invited her on the spot for breakfast and that she could bring the family.... As she got home her one daughter had come to her saying, "Mom, I'm hungry." And THIS time, she could answer, "Well, get your coat! We've been invited to breakfast!!!" During that meal she'd confided in me more, and also told me that she was feeling suicidal.... I told her we'd see about that. Started praying for her, mentally. She had given me her phone number but had never returned my calls. Then she found my yard, and popped in telling me several weeks ago where she lives. I'd gotten sick for a while, so didn't venture out til today to try to regain contact with her. Knocked on the door I THOUGHT might be right, and a big dog barked for a while, so I knew no one was going to answer. Prayed, Lord, don't let me go home empty handed!! (Not making contact)..... Tried knocking on the next door over to at least inquire if the lady lived in the dog's apartment or not, and found her opening the door, with repeated soft knocking. (NORMALLY, I wouldn't ATTEMPT to going to knock on someone else's door, alone. I wouldn't even get dressed!! BUT I WANT to do better with obeying.) It is nice feeling just the nerve of preparing to do INSTEAD of the fear of old!!! :biggrin With the fear of old, even a short while ago, I would NEVER have gotten dressed just to go to the apartment building next to me, let alone knock on one door not knowing if I would see her or a total stranger! Severe social anxiety doesn't allow that!!! GOD DOES!!!! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!!! :biggrin THANK YOU LORD FOR THE BLESSING OF TODAY WITHIN ME!! :biggrin I pray I can join in in time and she follows through and comes out!!

Pretty sure I caught sight of her walking by, and tried to wave a welcome to her to come join us, but the lady didn't respond..... However, a new lady, older came in on her own. We discovered she didn't know anyone, but we welcomed her. Cheryl. She told me she's come from a Pentecostal background. I'm THINKING we helped her feel at home. Rose's driver from Trans(portation) Help we asked to join us for the Pot Luck too. (Couldn't have him just sitting out there waiting alone while Rose was finishing up!!) That's what happened so far.

Update on this..... Monique, when she catches sight of me, basically YELLS to me in greeting!! LOL I do always answer her, and catch up. It's been twice this has happened now. This last Friday, she'd yelled to me, and I told her we were doing Art, and she could come, and re-invited for church on Sun. She found me again early Sun morning, she was in the truck with her husband driving to their parking spot, and yelled to me when things were starting. I told her 10:30 for the "breakfast", just snacks, and 11 for the service. Rose asked for Baptism (just a cross drawn on the forehead in oil), and I Rededicated..... didn't see that Monique and her Mom, whose name is close on the brain but not revealed ugh!!! I THINK they MIGHT come back!!! The Mom asked if we/I was "Born Again", and I told her, yes (I know I am!!) So hopefully, we can strengthen them, too!!! :biggrin
