I agree, in the sense of hoping it's true. Genetic manipulation would be more along the lines of Hitler's "master race" idea; bigger, stronger, faster, more aggressive, etc.
And he had the whole nation on Meth and they turned into vicious and animal like preditors... lovely, no?

haktar, the idea in stargate , was to use an alteri machine that could manipulate dna to make a perfect host for the goauld, with uber human abilities.

Man, don't let the Klingons get a hold of that, lol
wrong sci fi. look up stargate sg1/nirrti, the goauld. the Klingons are in fact a subject of eugenics as they found human dna and mixed it and that is how they explain that old star trek look with the lack of ridges. they corrected that look and don't like to talk about it

Yeah, I was intentionally mixing my metaphors. The Klingons w/o ridges probably even like burned birds, too bland for a true Klingon's palate? Lol

Ruffles have ridges

Meth, really? Are you sure? I've never heard of this before
Yes. during my first two years or so of my Service I managed to complete my Hitler study begun the summer my seventeenth birthday and Induction and during that summer and nearly all of my free time before my second duty station. That was about fifty years ago but as I recall I had two strong ans external mentions in two examinations of Hitler's War Years by two English Biographers with differing citations for evidence.

I happened upon someone else referring to this, just last night! Apparently it was methamphetamine, a type of amphetamine, which is speed. Not the killer drug circulating now, known as crystal meth. (Or just meth) Thus my surprise

Michael, all 3 links refer to the same book. Obviously I know nothing about crystal meth, apart from seeing lives ruined and what news has to say about it that makes it sound like a relatively new invention. Specifically, that just one dose can forever change your brain chemistry, having given you an experience you'll only be able to repeat by taking more. And your teeth will start falling out prematurely.

If this has been the same stuff all along, I had opportunity to try it in 1981, only months after asking Christ into my heart for the first time. What a Savior!

We were taught Hitler was crazy due to some STD. Maybe both problems were true?

Call me crazy, but I really don't know what a war on drugs has anything about humans surgically turning into animals or not. :confused

I can't imagine a place selling meth and not having customers who won't steal, commit crimes to pay for it

Yeah, meth and heroin are killers. In large amounts, cocaine will ruin lives. These deserve the strictest scrutiny the FDA has. Other things may be debatable?

This is also enough to make one re-think the US war on drugs. Maybe it IS worthwhile?

Something well thought out would be worthwhile. The current strategy designed by special interest groups is counter productive. It empowers criminals, who then seek to produce a new generation of addicts to pad their pockets. It keeps affordable meds away from those who need them. It leads to corruption in myriad places. It leads to more prisoners per capita than even despotic states have, and limits freedom.

We need a system designed to actually help people. Something should be done, but not what is being done now.

The more expensive their habit is, the more users will be tempted to steal. The strategy of keeping things expensive just leads to a crime wave. Better to switch to treatment for the hard stuff, and allowing people to self medicate with something safer. Keep non drug users safer on the streets that way. In the history of prohibition enforcement, the only time it was successful was when all fire was concentrated on those who sold to children. The criminals would police their own ranks to prevent anyone from selling to children, because they knew the heat involved with that. Once they switched to enforcing prohibition on adults, it led to a huge crime wave.

Alcohol prohibition in the US started out dramatically decreasing drinking for a short while. Then drinking started up again, this time with a huge crime wave involved. Criminals providing alcohol became big business.

The link gives a fair explanation of tthe population and the very slight difference between the Meth used for and by the SS, the Wehrmacht and the Civilian Population and the Meth, a.k.a.
Chrystal, Methamphetamine, Glass, Ice and an assortment of other names and latest out croppings of today. No much different, just deadlier and no different in the minds of exusers such as myself.

Your argument would hold water only if meth, cocaine, pot, were legally sold .they aren't.

Should an inmate be allowed ,beer,in prison, they must attend na,aa for any criminal offense if they are also an addict.

I'm not for punishing the users but it's not the case where I can sell meth to an adult in Portugal.
