art whom I mentioned a few weeks ago as I trained him for his three day trail starts tomorrow on his six month probation to be a meter reader. I also will do a new route tomorrow. its a lot walking and in and out of the truck.

Prayers for Art as he commences his probation period. Also, prayers for you, my friend, include the new route you'll undertake beginning tomorrow. Sounds like good exercise with all the walking, and the truck entering & exiting. (I know, I know .... just what you didn't want to read!)

if the route didn't have the two country roads it would have been finished at 1130. art did the hardest route and I didn't hear good or bad on that. im with him Wednesday on what is called the publix route. its and easy route and a good one to learn from.

Ah, those naughty country roads! :rofl2I hope all went well for both you & Art today, and that all will go well in future.

It did, he did the hardest route, I know that he was done before two. it wasn't the country roads just that well I cant fly down them to the homes and get the read. im sure you wouldn't like a stranger doing 30mph down your private road , especially when dogs are out there.

Doing 30 on a private road would definitely raise some eyebrows & concerns, not to mention some ire !

Of course, back in the day, there were gates at the front of the private lane, with speakers boxes & security cameras so approval had to be granted before the gates opened. However, none that guaranteed a low speed on the lane or 100% security.

they do the same. I just hate that and that is where I cant speed up. I finished the other side of that before 11:30. all 900 reads.

Ah, meter clusters. A definite aid, not to mention convenient. I'm glad those meter rooms exist ... makes your life a bit easier.

ah some of those are annoying.tommorow I have one that is about 100 meters in one side of the bldg. and the other 100 in the other side. they have time the meters to cycle all the same time so I must wait for them show the read. but that bldg. is about the 3/4 mark of the route. that one is long but I get that done by 1:30 ish.

Out of curiosity, how long does it generally take to read 100 meters on one side of the building?
15 minutes if that. that is a quick one for me. the spires while it seems I move faster actually takes longer they have about 100 reads tween the two 11 story bldgs. the club of vero is a retirement home that has 200 condos in it I would have to post a video of them flashing at the same time. its the west side that does it and the north wall only. why the meter shop did that idk. I told them next time time them to exact same time. not just enough to get one read and wait for the next.

Sometimes people design things in ways that make no sense whatsoever later on, such as the meter shop.

Still.... 15 minutes for 200 reads? Not too bad.

the meter shop isn't totally at fault the bean counters tell them to use the cheapest meters. they can buy ones that don't flash like that and they do have them in that same building
