Since I am going to church tomorrow I wanted to see if anybody else had the same misconceptions about it that I did before I actually started going. Scroll down to the bottom for the answers. No cheating!
1. True or False? Before you go to church you have to make sure that your relationship with the Lord is one hundred percent perfect.
2. True or False?(two parter) It's alright to struggle with doubt and be a believer at the same time. We go to church to learn and strengthen our faith.
3. True or False? It's perfectly alright to be a sinner and attend church.
4. True or False? If you're not always on fire and completely intimate with the Lord then there's something wrong with you.
Answers; Number one is definitely false! The whole entire reason that we go to church in the first place is because generally speaking we don't have a perfect relationship with God and we want to learn how to make it better. Which leads me to answer two which is definitely one hundred percent true! If you're a Christian struggling with doubts, it's not only perfectly normal, but it also means that your faith is stronger than you believe. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a struggle in the first place and you would just be turning your back on God instead of thinking about how to stay a firm believer in Him. The answer to question number three of course is true!
Everybody except Jesus Christ is a sinner and therefore that's why we all needed a Savior in the first place. So instead of feeling guilty and beating yourself up about it, just pray for forgiveness and the strength to not commit that same sin again. Finally, the answer to question to number four. Of course it's false. Just like in question number one, the whole entire purpose for church is how to make your relationship with Christ better and not dwell on the fact that it isn't perfect. As my mother and I were just discussing earlier, I highly doubt that for anyone on here their relationship with the Lord is one hundred percent perfect.
After all, I can't possibly think of a relationship that we will have in this lifetime that will be one hundred percent perfect. Every relationship has its conflicts, but just remember that once you start a relationship with Christ, He will always be there for you since He loves you more than you could ever possibly imagine. The proof is in the cross.
