Lord,

I pray that you give Chopper your strength for trusting you in the situation his family and himself are currently going through.
You see him and his family as they are waging this war against our enemy.
Thank you because we know you always prevail through your Spirit in us.

In Jesus' name, amen!

Hello Bible Study lovers. I must apologize for not informing all of you before this of my situation and health. For several months now, I believe that both my Wife Debi and I have been under a demonic attack. Right after the death of Debi's identical twin Sister and our accepting the responsibility of raising Jordan, Nancy's (Debi's twin) adopted 11 year old Son, it seems that all hell broke out on us.

Three weeks ago Debi landed in the emergency room because she could hardly breath. She was in the hospital with a critical pneumonia, partial collapsed lung and an infected sac which was attached to one of her lungs. 8 days later she was discharged. She continues on meds for the infection and struggles with breathing.

On July the 6th, I thought I had a stroke. since then I've had an MRI which didn't show anything wrong. I am very weak, and it's like I have "motion sickness" constantly with nausea.

As of yesterday, I decided to fight back!! I called upon the LORD for healing. As far as I can see, there is no physical reason for my sickness. I am very careful about the possibility of sin in my life and am asking the Lord to search out my heart for any sin that I need to repent of.

Could those of you who love our Bible Study please pray with me that my healing will come and that all demonic activities on my body be rebuked and loosened? Debi needs prayer as well to be completely healed. I am going to fire up this Bible study today in an effort to fight back! Thank you for your patience. I love you all!

Hello Chopper,
I am new here and more of a reader than a poster right now.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this bible study, it is such a blessing for me.

I noticed you had been MIA for a while and became concerned about you. I will continue to pray for you and your wife.

Hey Chopper,

Tahiti checking in, for some reason I haven't received any notices from the forum for months now, ...but this one the Lord wanted me to receive, you will be in my prayers brother, as you remember I was struck down at the first of the year, since then I have been so busy that I have very little computer time, I'm certain that is demonically influenced too, .....the world is growing darker and darker as the number of true believers is diminishing, ...that make it even more easy to spot the lights still burning.

Concerning your motion sickness, I've had that too, very simplistic, on the other side of our ear canals are thousands of small hair like growths, normally they stand straight up (so to speak), but when a trauma occurs in our body they tend to get knocked over and that is what causes the sensation of motion sickness, in me it was also combined with vertigo, the cure is very simple, I went to a ear specialist and after he had diagnosed the problem he had me lay on my side with my feet hanging off of the bed for a few minutes and then he came and held me very tight so that I couldn't move and then turned me over to my other side and I layed there a few minutes, it worked, it rearranges the little hairs causing them to stand back up again. my 2 cents

Hi reba, Lord bless.

Can't say I will participate, probably will check back and lurk tho, ..but I will keep you and your wife in prayer, oh, one more thing, all things work together for good..., it's not an accident or a last minute decision (but was foreknown before the foundation of the world), the Lord gave you the boy to raise, and He knows he needs a father and you will be a good one, ...we don't retire from ministry, we are called home.

Lord bless you all.

Good to hear from you Karl. Thank you for the info on ear hairs. I'm just learning how important they are....I'm going to be faithful to whatever my Lord sends my way. This young man, Jordan, is learning, I should say is very hungry to learn, all about Jesus and where his Mother is now. He is going to our church every Sunday (Children's class) as well as daily lessons each morning by my Wife Debi. (His Mothers Twin).

May God bless you my good friend with health, wisdom, knowledge so that you may please our Heavenly Father and bless His Son Jesus. May it be that Jesus is never disappointed with our service to Him.

August 11th 2015 Matthew 16:26 Man's Gain In Life.

Matthew 16:26 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

Wow, what a question that our Lord Jesus asks? I don't believe that there ever has been a more important question to mankind than this. Actually, I ask the same question to all who read this study....Have you humbled your heart/mind make up of yourself and let go of what and who you want to become in this world that your life is presently? Have you surrendered your life's hopes at the cross of Jesus and asked for His life to become yours and to be willing to die to your life in order for you to take on His?

There are folk who stubbornly hang onto their present circumstances thinking I'm all right just as I am. There are some who are still under the Old Covenant system of Commands, Statues, and rules, laid down by Moses, and rely on their Hebrew heritage for their "gain". In their mind, they give verbal ascent to Jesus Christ as savior but not their Messiah because that would require repentance and they are not willing to stoop that low in their proud Hebrew mind.

I don't mean to offend a person by the previous statement. I have recently completed a study in the Hebrew Scriptures and the mindset of the Hebrew people that causes Yehovah their Elohim to call them "stubborn" and "stiff-necked". God, as I know Him has a reason to use those exact words, they aren't mine. So, now to the question of our study....When all is said and done, and everyone is standing before our Lord, will He accept what has been "gain" to our life's purpose? Is Jesus Christ's forgiveness of our sins and a life of service to Him as our Master Owner been our "gain?" or have we stubbornly clung onto a lie and deception of Satan and did not repent and humble ourselves under the mighty hand of Almighty God to gain His way and not ours.

The ending of our verse for today is, "or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" If the answer comes "everything that this world has to offer in the way of riches, honor, and popularity, I give up so that I can be a child of God thru Salvation thru His Son Christ Jesus, That's a winner!!!!!

Thank you Chopper

At some point I came to the realization that having "things" that I wanted in my youth were really not important. Sure, when I was young I wanted the big house, nice car, and money for whatever I wanted to do. I wanted to be popular and liked by most people. Then I realized all of that is not important, it's all going to be gone someday anyway, and none of it is anything I need.

Salvation or riches, honor, and popularity??? No need to even think about that one...give me salvation

Ephesians 2:15
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, eventhe law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, somaking peace;

I Corinthians 9:9
For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.

The law contains a shadow of things to come, but the reality that casts the shadows is Christ Jesus

Under the law: (we do works)
II Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Your required works:
1. Humble yourself
2. Pray
3. Seek his face
4. Turn from wicked ways

His work:
His work till idol worship
Heal land (not eternal life)
.......
Under Grace: (He did / does works)
I John 1:8
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Your required works: (in this example passage)
1. Confess sins
His completed works
1. Forgive us our sins
A. Death on cross (bearing our sins)
B. interceed for us to Father
2. Cleanse us (Holy Spirir and fire)

Repentance (John's baptism) is just one step
Baptism in Christ saves for eternity
Baptism in Holy Spirit empowers us to witness, see judgement, changes us on inside (will and do - He gets Credit / praise). We see ourselves as a wretched man, but recognize the mind of Christ in us (heart of flesh - mind of Christ).
Romans 7:25

Hi there all you Bible Study Buddies. Lets roll.... IncredibleTransformation, I'm very sorry that there is some confusion here in the Bible Study. I was laid up with some physical trials and could not continue. Since then, as eddif has said, we will "press forward". Yes, I'm the one who presents the Matthew study and I'm pleased to have you as part of our little family, enjoy.

August 19th 2015 Matthew 16:27 & 28 Title: Payments-a-coming!

Matthew 16:27 "For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 16:28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." (ESV)

In these two verses, we have a future prophecy, Verse 27 is a future prophecy. We find it fulfilled in Revelation 22:12 "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done." When this life as we know it ceases either thru death or the final "end time" events like the rapture, seven year tribulation, and the 1,000 year reign of our Lord Jesus Christ, there will be an accounting of what each Christian has done in his/her "saved" life.

I don't know about you, but for me, I want to "die with my boots on." (Gospel boots that is).:boing For all of us, there are times when things are not going very well and we wonder, does anyone even care? Why is the Christian life so hard. We sometimes look at folk who are not Christians and they appear to be so well off and we seem so poor. We wonder, does God even care that I'm struggling to make ends meet?

There certainly is light at the end of the tunnel my friends. Look, those folk that we know who seem to prosper all the time, they have their reward. If all we want to do is enjoy life here on this earth, it will happen. Problem is; that's all the reward that we will get,, it's temporary, it too will pass away. There are earthly rewards and Heavenly rewards. I won't say a lot along this line but, there are the "prosperity folk" who will obtain many wonderful "things" in this life but remain empty handed when Jesus passes out the real rewards in Heaven. By the way, those rewards are not temporary like worldly rewards, the ones that Jesus passes out will last forever. I don't mean to belittle the "prosperity doctrine", but in reality, which place do we want our treasures. I want mine in the next life with Jesus so I'm willing to suffer need in this life. I "seek His Kingdom" now, and let Him give me what's best.

There are some wonderful, well-meaning Christians who think that prosperity in this life is what it's all about. I don't believe that. Sure it's good to have lots of things that make life easier. BUT, is this life all there is? Lets look at what Jesus has to say about this.
Matthew 6:19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Lets not be deceived friends. the things that we call prospering are really worldly things like an expensive automobile. In reality, it can easily become an idol and many times does.....All I'm saying is, this life will be over soon and what we thought was important now will be insignificant when this life is over. Then the focus will be "Was I prosperous in godly matters. Was I satisfied with what I had. Was I satisfied with seeking the Kingdom of God and trusting in God to supply what He saw that I needed.

Now lets look at, 16:28 " Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." (ESV)

This is what Albert Barnes has to say about this verse. "All these apostles, except Judas, lived to see the wonders of the day of Pentecost; some of them, John particularly, saw the Jewish nation scattered, the temple destroyed, the gospel established in Asia, Rome, Greece, and in a large part of the known world." Some folk believe that Jesus was referring to the transfiguration with Moses and Elijah but I prefer Barnes' explanation.

I can only imagine how excited the Apostles must have been when they remembered what Jesus had told them when He was alive and with them about this time period....The Apostles only saw a fulfillment of a prophesy of Jesus, we on the other hand will experience the real event. Jesus, the Lord of lords, and the King of kings coming to set up His Kingdom, and forever to be with us. WOW! Praise the Name of King Jesus!

Thanks Chopper, now I am in the right place.

I agree with you Brother Chopper, things do not make us happy. I know so many people that have cars, boats, ATV's, big house, etc., etc., etc. They are some of the most miserable people that I know. I do believe in prosperity but not the prosperity principle that is taught in the church today. The Bible says "You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us you generosity will result in thanksgiving to God." (2 Cor. 9:11) NIV We get from God in every area of our lives so that we can be generous to those who need it. That includes money. However, especially when it comes to money, we must be mature enough to handle it. If not it isn't good for us to have it. 1 Timothy 6:10 says "For the love of money is the root of all evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."

The person who seeks after money will wander from the faith and get into trouble with it. If you can't handle money it is better to remain poor and in the faith. My wish is to amass a large amount of money, give it all away to my family and ministries that I know are doing great things for the Lord, and to leave this world with nothing because I gave it all away. Who knows, the Lord may allow me to do just that before I go.
