Listened through some of my music library, starting with Casting Crowns, and going through the artists in alphabetical order. Am currently on Red, and the song "Start Again" from the album "Innocence and Instinct".
Well, okay, the song just now changed to "Never Be the Same".

P.S.
The artists in between Casting Crowns and Red are Fireflight, For King & Country, Jason Bare, and Owl City.

questdriven:

Was this the CD that your mom gave you, maybe?

I guess she is now a bit more positive about your Christian hard rock.

Blessings.
Well, she bought the iTunes card I used to buy it. (And other albums.)

Don't be surprised if eventually she joins you at a Skillet concert.

Battle Lines, by Disciple

So yeah, another band to add to my favorites list. :)

questdriven:

This piece from Disciple has a very effective combination of electric guitars, drum rhythms and throaty rasping vocals. It's heartening to see all the Bible references, and to be able to acknowledge that the sentiment of the lyrics is so thoroughly Scriptural.

It's an example of really good quality Christian hard rock, isn't it?

Blessings.

Yup. I like how outspoken the lyrics are, how there's no question what they mean. :)

Indeed so.

Even the name of the band shows just where they stand, doesn't it?

I can completely understand Christian young people who want to go for this kind of Christian hard rock.

Blessings.

An intriguing track. Its Christrian specificity isn't really overt, but its a very thought-provoking set of lyrics, set in an almost mournful minor key. And you know, it seems also to contain a set of oblique references applicable to the general context of tattooing: 'under my skin', 'spine' (a very popular placement), empathy 'inside', etc.

Blessings.

Switchfoot is like that, or so I'm told. I like several of their songs, but haven't listened to them all that much.

Here's my favorite song by them:

Yes, 'Beautiful Letdown' has clear words of testimony. (Reminds me of the old song, 'This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through'.) I wouldn't really call it hard rock; more soft rock/easy listening, which is fine.

Blessings.

Grunge rock, I think someone called it.

A: Sounds good. Is there a version with lyrics?

Blessings.

It has lyrics.. Or are you asking does it have a version where you're able to read them? If the latter I have not found a video with one, but here are the lyrics

This starts @ 2:23 in the song

The fruit from the tree was so
pleasing to my eye. The serpent
said that I would not die.

The serpent shall be cursed, he
will crawl about and eat dust.
I will put enmity between the
woman and you. Man will crush
your head, you will strike his heel.

The wisdom of the world will be
mine if I eat. What can it hurt
if I take it and eat?

I will greatly increase the woman's
pain, when bearing children all of
your days. You will desire man.
He will rule over you.

Take some, man. Gain wisdom, too.
Eat from the tree.
It's what you must do.

The land will be cursed because of man.
Producing thorns to make him bleed.
By your sweat you will live until death.
Dust you are and to dust you will return.

Gen. 3:1
