I'm just getting a little confused in what we're discussing.
In the one teaching of Jesus,,,we're to go to a brother that is sinning or has sinned against US, personally to one of us.

This would cover the going to the brother..
although I do believe we could FORGIVE our brother even if we cannot go to him,,,as @for_his_glory his glory brought up. Or because the other does not care to speak to us...we still forgive.

But now we've gone on to discussing OUR sin against GOD.

Am I correct? Have we changed the discussion?

I do believe we could FORGIVE our brother even if we cannot go to him,,

I agree.

Somehow the original topic got flipped around where the person who “sinned against the brother” is no longer the topic, but now the one who was “sinned against” is now the wrong doer if he doesn’t go after the one who sinned against him.

Of course we can forgive with out going to someone who sinned against us.

The case of the prodigal son is just one example.

The son became lost, but repented in humility and was forgiven and reconciled.

Yes, and I believe the father forgave him before he returned and confessed his repentance.

So do I.

However, the son was clearly said to have become lost.

Without a doubt, I believe we can all agree, that the lost need salvation.

When our brother sins against us, if we do not go to him, we fall into sin ourselves by disobeying Gods commandment to us.

Ok, that’s a new one.

Please post the scripture where we find that if a brother sins against, and we don’t go to them it’s a sin.

Matthew 18:15 kjv
“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.

Jesus gives us clear instruction that we are to obey. We do need to obey Jesus, right? If we don't obey, then we have missed the mark. In other words, when we disobey, we call that sin.
