15And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." 16To the woman he said, "I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. …. Ge. 3

There was a commentary I had years ago that spoke of Eve saying something a little bit different than what was recorded here. If anyone recognizes it from what I write please let me know. Thanks. When the Lord spoke of these things to Eve who would she have thought the Lord was speaking about? A woman thousands of years in the future? Would you after looking around and seeing no other woman not consider that it was you who was going to bring the Savior into the world? Adam even names her Eve the mother of all living. The person(s) who wrote the study on Exodus believe that it should have been translated as such when Eve spoke after the birth of Cain "Behold! I have been given the Man. Even the Lord."" This is not far different from what is written by whoever translated it as: Adam[a] made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain.[b] She said, “With the help of the Lord I have brought forth[c] a man.” Ge. 4 I think a legitimate case can be presented that Eve probably did understand and believe the Lord that a Savior, a Man, was going to be born who as the Seed would crush the head of the evil one. That this Man who would be born of a woman would also be the Lord, Jehovah, or YAHWEH The only thing Eve actually got wrong was the timing. After her failure that led to the fall what a wonderful show of faith in what God said.

If you recognize this commentary please let me know. thanks

That enmity (hostile enemy of Satan) in vs 15 is God speaking of the future birth of Christ that Isaiah prophesied of in Isaiah 7:14; 9:6, 7 in whom Satan opposes. Paul understood who this enmity was in Romans 16:20 and the fullness of the time of Christ in Galatians 4:4.

The woman in the future would be that of Mary in Luke 1:26-38, but I don't think Eve would have been privy to that kind of knowledge even though vs. 15 is the first verse in the Bible that speaks of Christ.

i wonder if the “Lamb who was slain from the foundations of the world were set in place did not have the revelation of the Good News begun from the beginning. In the account of creation it seems to have the first passage about our fall and restoration. First,we have the fallen creation. Then light reveals the fallen condition and the restoration begins and we are now in the Image of God. Then Genesis 3 explains to us the fall, the Lamb etc

God's plan of salvation through Christ was before the foundation of the world as I think He already knew that man being flesh would disobey Him even though He wanted man to be holy.

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
