I used to be very idealistic. Theory appealed more than practice.
i tried to make reality fit theory . that was my mistake.
I dreamed of becoming a disability support worker.
Then i became one.
only lasted 3 months. i was incompetent and not much good people skill either.

I was 19/20. At college. About to become a teacher.
One British lecturer was encouraging us to let kids have free rein . "let them follow their own interests. Have tailor made programs for each student...." and so on..
it was the worst possible advice you could give an aspiring teacher.for me anyway.
thr advice i needed was how to survive. classroom management.
my first year was a disaster. in the second yeat i started to become more pragmatic. Pragmatism . you need it for teaching.
maybe later on you can gradually get more experimental. try for some idealism.

Idealism is the grandeur of our mind of wants, but usually not a thought out reality. We have a tendency to be something that appeals to us, but within the process of making it a reality we find out it is not what was to be good for us as it would become our failure.

Years ago I wanted to be a Pastor and was checking out some seminary schools, but I did not seek God for this, nor was I called of Him to be a Pastor. He had other plans for me that would later on in years lead me to become an Evangelist, but only for a time and season.

Ideas are good to have, but also have to be thought out before jumping into them.
