In Romans 11:34 Paul asks the question
"For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?"

Then in 1 Corinthians 2:16, he repeats the question
"For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ."

But now Paul says we have the mind of Christ, so what does that mean?

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

This is what it means to have the mind of Christ that Paul was talking about.

Let's make some observations in the context of 1 Cor. 2:
1. He is talking about the gospel which he preaches - 1:17
2. Chapter 2 is the same subject matter; he is not skipping to a different subject - 2:1.
3. Understanding of the gospel takes supernatural (spiritual) thinking - 2:6,13
4. The Holy Spirit gives us this wisdom/understanding - 2:12

So then, the "mind of Christ" is the understanding of the gospel message which the apostles taught in the NT. It's like saying we understand the message Christ preached, therefore we have His mind.

Hello reddogs.
It means to perceive things as God does, not as people do.

A perfect example of this is how people thought Jesus was being punished by God as a sinner, because that's how they saw him, as a blasphemer.

The truth is, he endured the taunts, the false witnesses, the physical abuse and other sins men heaped on him.

They were guilty of breaking Moses' law, for which the penalty is death. He showed them mercy instead,

for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Lk.6:35

That's the mind of Christ. How God thinks.

But Christ was there in the OT too not just NT..
The mind of Christ but not the mind of the Lord to instruct Him, is being on earth, as the Son of God was, being instead then, instructed by the Father.

Here is exactly what having the mind of Christ applies as, to everyone.

If anyone fellowships in the Spirit, they have the same love, ( it has to be the same to have the same mind of Christin anyone who is of the same Spirit.) to be of one accord, of ONE MIND.

Nothing is done of these in strife or vainglory, but they have that lowliness of mind ( to have learned of Christ who is meek and lowly in heart/Spirit.) to not look selfishly in your own things, but for the things of others. ( Christ laying His life down for us.)

Christ we see then, humbled Himself, as a servant, and became obedient to the death of the cross, to be given a name, which is above every name, ( the name which gives life) for every tongue to confess Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. ( Gods name)

This is all to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, especially this forum, and forums in the internet, which is the number one place of murmurings and disputes, doing blame and harm, rebuked for crookedness and perversion, instead of shining forth as lights, holding forth the word of life, to not run in vain.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Philippians 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Scripture is the Mind of Christ (or the Spirit.)
Scripture is many things, but it is also the thoughts of God in everything that concern us.
The Mind of Christ.

But Christ was there in the OT too not just NT..
Christ was a mystery in OT times, as the apostle Paul said. Yes, the gospel was preached to them, howbeit in a mystery and in obscurity. Only those who had real faith in God from God the Holy Spirit understood it, as described in Heb. 11. The NT is revelation progressed beyond the OT writings, as Heb. 1 says, in which Christ was revealed in His first advent. Therefore, the "mind of Christ" which we have today is the red letters of the gospels (the quotes of Jesus).

Disagree.
The Mind of Christ is the Mind of the Spirit and the Spirit Authored the Scripture of the First and Second Covenant/Testament.
The Mind of Christ encompasses the whole of the Scripture - First and Second Testaments.

"For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ."
1 Corinthians 2:

16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
How do we have the mind of Christ?

4 verses earlier, 1 Corinthians 2:

10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
It begins with being born again. The Paraclete/Spirit moves in and dwells in our spirit, close to our mind.

John 14:

26 But the Advocate [Paraclete], the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Romans 8:

10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.
We have the mind of Christ. We need to pay attention to the Indwelling Spirit who teaches us and guides us in our everyday walk. We can mature to be a spiritual man.

Your logic is pristeen, however inadequate. Examine closely the context of Paul's statement. He is not including the OT saints in the statement "but we have the mind of Christ," because he wrote elsewhere that the gospel was a mystery which was revealed by the Spirit Who came at Pentecost (Eph. 3:3-5). He quotes an OT verse in the 1 Cor. context that says "no eye has seen nor ear heard what God has prepared for those who love Him" - which things have been revealed by the Spirit to the apostles, namely the gospel of Christ. So even Jesus' teaching in His ministry did not reveal those things to individuals, otherwise the disciples would have understood it when He was here, which they didn't until Pentecost; because John wrote "for the Spirit had not yet been given" in regard to the time prior to the church age (Jn 7:39). In addition, the OT saints could not be included in this revelation, since the writer of Hebrews wrote "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son..." Therefore, the revelation that Paul was talking about came long after the OT was completed.

When a person becomes familiar with the context of the Bible, it becomes apparent that a complete understanding of the NT writings requires knowledge of the OT, so both the OT and NT is needed in addition to the wisdom given by the Spirit to believers through spiritual rebirth (at this time). But when Paul wrote that statement in question, the NT did not yet exist. All they had at that time was the OT and the remembered words of Jesus. And since the OT was inadequate for revealing the gospel that Paul was talking about (Eph. 3:3-5), he had to be talking about the words of Jesus when he said "we have the mind of Christ." The "mind of Christ" consists of the words that Jesus spoke, brought to remembrance by the Spirit in the apostles.

When Paul wrote those words all he had WAS the Old Testament Scripture. All the apostles had those same Scriptures (although they were in possession of the priests and Levites in the Temple and synagogues). There is no new revelation other than the fact that the Mosaic Law was originally understood by the "letter," and since the Law of Moses is type and shadow of the Holy Spirit, and Paul says the Law is spiritual and Jeremiah said God would put His Law in our inward parts (speaking to Israel in the New Covenant He makes with the house of Israel), the Holy Spirit IS that "Law" He said He's put in our inward parts to teach, lead, guide, command, etc., from within that which the Law written on stone did from without. It is NOW the (Holy) Spirit of the Law.
The "Church" Jesus said He was going to build under the New Covenant (Jer. 31) is a continuation of the Church God founded in the desert at the time of the Tabernacle with the children of Israel. When Paul said "we have the Mind of Christ" he was talking about the Old Testament Scripture. There was no "New Testament" Scripture at the time.

The Old Testament was indeed adequate in "revealing the gospel." First, there are many "gospels" in the OT. When Paul said:

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Gal. 1:11–12....

...he was talking about merely as priest in the Sanhedrin and having the Scripture available in which to read and study (although it was letter of the Law), that having the Seed of the Word of God planted in his mind through access and use, that when the Holy Spirit entered from within, the Holy Spirit illuminated those Scriptures in his mind (I don't like to say 'heart' because the 'heart doesn't think), and Paul was then able to SEE the OT covenants and prophecies and Promises and histories, etc., in a new light. There was no special visitation of Jesus where they hung out together (say, in the desert) and Jesus taught him directly and in Person. It did happen that way but the Person was the Holy Spirit within him, and he saw OT Scripture with new eyes and to him this was a revelation he speaks of.

The Mind of Christ/ (Messias = "anointing") he means the OT Scripture.

The disputes, the different threads, the differences of opinion, the strife the debate that is caused, all emphasises what the mind of Christ is.

The likeminded same love, being of one accord, of one mind, which is in peace, no strife, not in exaltation, but in lowliness of mind, to esteem the other, to not look on our own things, but to look on the things of the other, is to let the mind that is in Christ, be in us too.

To be blameless and harmless the sons of God shining as lights, without rebuke, holding forth the word of life, so it is not ended in vain.

Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Now search in that same way, to be all one, of the same mind and judgement, and especially how that equals no differences of strife and we have what mind is the mind of Christ.

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Romans 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Philippians 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Philippians 4:2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

1 Peter 4:Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

I would think we have the thoughts of God knowing they not of our own self using metaphors found in parables that teach us how to understand the hidden things of God. Like hidden manna the daily bread in the wilderness .Teaching his thoughts are not ours neither his ways . We have them available if we do not harden our hearts we have enter his rest as long as today is still under the sun .Yoked with him he makes our daily burdens lighter

1 Corinthians 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

The parables are understood by children, because this is who they are meant for, because of the Holy Child Jesus Christ, they speak of the simplicity of Christ, ( as a child) they speak of the goodness of a child, innocence, harmlessness, trusting, sharing, easy ability to learn.

One Child led the way, others follow, that is why it is easy to see who receives the Kingdom of God as a little child, and who dos not.

Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Luke 18:16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. ( THE SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST, IS THE MIND THAT IS IN CHRIST.)

Yes without parables (hidden manna) the daily bread the disciples knew not of. When God makes music in our new born again hearts we would have no voice to follow

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Those who do not hear the song . . . . . they are of the wide path. Make up your song as a oral tradition of the dying mankind .

Luke 7:32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
it is that kind of oral tradition that makes the word of God without efect.

Luke 7:32, and Matthew 11:16-19, are more appropriately shown in Isaiah 30.

Regarding Israel, the rebellious children, who take counsel, but not of God, and use anything other than the Spirit of God, so they add their sin up for always. ( 1 Thessalonians 2:16.)

God foretells them, they shall have a song, one as when a holy solemnity is kept, and of gladness of heart as when one goes with a pipe to the mountain of the Lord.

God would cause His glorious voice to be heard, with indignation of anger, with a flame of a devouring fire, tempest and hailstones.

Christ comes to Israel, and testifies what Israel was, how the mourning song, ( solemn) was not lamented over, how the piped song, ( as when one goes to the mountain of the Lord.) was not danced to. ( Jesus Christ who was eating and drinking.)

Wisdom is justified of her children, it is not justified in the wisdom of this world.

Isaiah 30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

Isaiah 30:29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel.
30 And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

Matthew 11:16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
