The location where the garden of Eden was is described in Genesis 2:10-14. Eden is located somewhere between Turkey, Iraq and Syria where the four heads of the rivers come from. Eastern gate of the Garden of Eden that the two Cherubim guard faces what would have been where the tower of Babel was built and Babylonian Empire becoming the Roman Empire that has always opposed Gods people.

The four rivers of Genesis 2:10-14
Pison in the land of Havilah
Gihon in the land of Ethiopia
Hiddekel east of Assyris
Euphrates in Turkey through Iraq (Iraq used to be the Babylonian Empire)

Isn't it likely that the garden of Eden is Israel?
Only my personal opinion.
But it would fit. Beeing a holy land to God..

I don't have my maps anymore since I got this new computer, but if you look at some Biblical maps that have these four rivers you can trace them all back to its head that ran through the northern part of Eden.

The garden of Eden basically covered from the northern mountains of Lebanon to the south of the Red Sea and a ways east of the Jordan river to the Mediterranean south to Egypt. It measured 200 x 150 square miles.

Most Bible commentaries state that the site of the Garden of Eden was in the Middle East, but what does Scripture actually tell us?

Perry stone, says it was where Israel is today, he talked a long talk about where the garden was. He said the tree of life or the bad tree were buried under ground. Just type Perry Stone Garden of Eden.

Check out the four rivers on a Biblical map and you will see where the garden of Eden was located.

Here we go cherry picking those bits of the Bible we believe.

Genesis discribes the garden of Eden and its location. That this is part of a literal six day creation according to genesis is believed by some and not by others.
Then we have the next big divider among Christians, Noah's flood.
The Bible discribes it as a global flood and that it destroyed the world.

If that happened how can people confidently say Eden was in the middle East just because of the names of rivers and that Israel is there?

Through out the bible there is reference to God's holy mountain, rivers flowed out of Eden. Two indications that Eden could have been on a mountain.
There are no mountains in the areas where Eden is claimed to be.

Wait for it.

Unrestricted tidal flow seeping round the global erroded mountains away.
Grand canyon a sedimentary plan over a mile deep covering thousands of sq miles, evidence how distructive a global flood would be.

I would only think you would believe that it is I that is cherry picking scripture since I was the only one who posted any.

Of course the flood was global and would have changed the structure of the earth, but yet the original location is still there buried underground.

Considering Eden that includes the garden of Eden basically covered from the northern mountains of Lebanon to the south of the Red Sea and a ways east of the Jordan river to the Mediterranean south to Egypt it measured 200 x 150 square miles.

From looking at the maps that show the four rivers in Genesis 2:10-14 and where they are joined together from the river that flowed out of the garden we can only get an approximate location that the garden of Eden was somewhere around the Northern part of Lebanon near Mt Lebanon that was rich in cedar trees. In the Genesis account Northern Lebanon was actually Northern Canaan before it was named Israel.

This area did not exist prior to the flood.
In saying that Eden is in the geographic location of Israel you are assuming that God places the same spiritual value on locations.
That is a human reaction wanting something that gives ' benefit' regardless of worth. God has always linked ' benefit ' to how worthy one is.
Look at the numerous spiritual events, the loading of the ark, the resting place of Noah's ark, all the miracles in exodus, entering the promised land.
The many deeds of the prophets, the alter on my Carmel, etc etc in the NT Jesus's birth place and all the other places, none of which we hav any really accurate idea of where they were.
Yet if they were spiritually important to God then they would be remembered as places.

According to Genesis 2:10-14 the area of Eden did exist in that area I described in post #11 as we are shown by the river that ran through the garden and became into four heads. All I can go by is scripture and looking up the Biblical maps to see where each river was located.

Correction one can look at amap and see rivers that where named after the rivers that ran out of Eden.

There is nothing in the Bible or in geography that indicates that Eden might have been in that area.
It is all wishful thinking.

Ezekiel 28:14 talks about Lucifer being an anointed cherub that God set on His holy mountain in the garden of Eden. This was before the flood in Noah's day. The holy mountain of God is identified in scripture as Mt. Moriah, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This should indicate that the garden of Eden was where Jerusalem is today that has always been the Holy city of God.
